Hello and sorry for the inconvenience! I’m dealing with a rather unusual issue on an M119 engine. After a valve stem seal repair, the mechanic blocked one of the ventilation lines from the valve cover on the driver’s side — the side without the oil separator in the cylinder head. Because of this, when the engine warms up, it runs unevenly and has acceleration lag. If I reconnect the hose, the car produces excessive smoke. Could the oil separator passage between the cylinder head and the engine block be clogged? Have you ever encountered something like this? Thank you!

You may need to remove the driver side valve cover for inspection. There is a rubber gasket between the valve cover and the upper plastic chain rail, which is supposed to seal the passage which connects to that rubber hose. Maybe, possibly, if that rubber gasket is missing... it's sucking oil instead of crankcase vapors?

It s the same thing in the other side cover? I want to chance the oil separator to.
Yes, similar gasket on the passenger side (different shape / part number though).

How many miles on the engine? Has the blue smoke been reduced since the new valve seals are installed? Were the guides replaced also, or just seals replaced?

Hard starting is usually something completely different. Most common is the fuel pressure regulator at the back of the fuel rail.

No blue smoke anymore
Guides and seals replaced
Hard starting because of the oil on spark i think. The fuel regulator was the first i ve changed but same issue
