Itsa pretty serious issue if the owner think its an AMG....and only a 'little' TLC at 266K to be showroom condition ! C'mon.

In his defense, the seller is willing to move quite a bit on the price... I'd probably be interested myself if it were south of the border.

Correct, unless it was dismantled and taken into the USA as parts (with no intention to re-assemble it). Otherwise you'd have the same ol' problems getting it titled and registered in the USA. Best that it stays north of the border.

Hey Dave, Other than he ASR light coming on intermittently, the few rust spots, chrome trim around shift gate & gauges & K&N filters what else did he say was wrong with it?

I believe it has some engine issues, climate control not working, quite a bit of rust, and rear shocks on the way out. Possibly some other odds & ends too. Definitely in need of some TLC, but for the right price, it would be nice as a restoration project...

This vehicle has 266383 kilometers and is in overall good shape. Sporting a 5.0L V8, this engine produces 322 BHP and 354 lbs/ft. Car will need some attention prior to being roadworthy.

The following is list of items which will need to be addressed:
-Trunk cylinder was seized. Cylinder had to be drilled out in order to have access to the trunk.
-Complete fluid flush (engine oil, transmission fluid, differential fluid, coolant, power steering fluid and brake fluid).
-Minor leaks diagnosed and repaired
-A complete onceover of the vehicle
-Dent on front left fender
-Surface rust (near sunroof, trunk)
-Recommend new tires

This 500E is located in Calgary and can be seen at any given time. I also would recommend towing it to its new home and that it would make a great restoration project as these cars are becoming rarer, or as a good parts car.

The rust on the body likely relegates it to a parts car, which they probably already know, given the asking price. Likely an attractively priced parts car, too.

I'd say its an interior and possibly mechanicals parts car. Too bad the front fender is bend.

Yes I agree but it's only $3.5K USD!

It would be a shame parting it out, get a trunk from any FL W124 sedan, fix the roof rust and it would be a nice daily driver/beater.

So, I bought this car! Drove her cross country back to Toronto. She's in good shape still, drives better then my silver one (which is out of commission atm).
