No affiliation. Wrong headlights, hole in driver door speaker grille, center rolltop box wood top destroyed, sunroof wind deflector springs broken, seats show moderate wear. Very late build 1992 car, one of the last couple dozen 92's built. Looks like a mid-teens car to me at most. AutoCheck report attached below photos.

Q: Did the owner provide you any documents showing any major maintenance services done in the last 20K miles? Where/which shop was the car maintained? Thanks.
A: This car belongs to a collector, it had an extensive service at MB of Orlando on the 29th of April 2011, complete mechanical go over. for $6980.00, we are also a full service garage for all high end vehicles here in Palm Beach Fl, the mileage was 92975 when the service was done at the MB dealership, the car is in perfect running condition, clean Carfax also, this was the fifth 500E he has owned, Thanks Kurt

you know, i've seen that dealer move (e.g., price increase) before...guess it's from the used car dealer handbook....page 56, 3rd paragraph:

"If the overpriced unit sitting on your lot does not move after 3 price reductions, simply take it off the market for 25 days, then increase the price and start all over again."

Who knows, it probably works....since about November 1997, I've been convinced that there's a fool born every minute.

Yea looks like the car had $7K of work done at a dealer just a few hundred miles ago, buyer should be sure to get the details on this.

Keep in mind the work was done way back in April 2011, and no one been interested in the car $14 -$20K past asking prices.

EZ enuf to check out and have all of the info confirmed as a buyer should.

Yep... I did. Used to have 94 E500 Smoke Silver/parch and sold it in 99' and regretted it ever since.
Will be restoring it back to factory.. so chrome 8 holes.. gone...
Antennae doesn't retract, seats ok but indeed showing signs of wear (driver), wood will need restoring, already replaced trunk stops, has seen some paint and needs a attentive cleanup and bumper inserts need to be painted properly... will replace the garnish trim (the stuff that goes bronze color with UV exposure over time.. was black from factory)... and will need to do something about the stereo.. that cd changer in trunk seems like the car phones of the 80's (HUGE!!!). And yes need to decide what to do about the analog phone (speaker blurts really loud when car started and cable cut from handset...

So mechanically seems to be sound.. right now seems mostly cosmetic stuff that can easily be addressed...

All in all, felt like it was a good deal (below 12K) and happy to be a E500E owner again and hang you with y'all

Phone - to stop the speaker "beep" you will need to disconnect/remove the Transceiver - its in the Trunk on the left hand side - black box around 12 x 4 x 2 - ish (going from memory here) but when you get in there you will see what I am talking about..

Looking forward to the project ... just have to finish with the 95' E320 Cab, then cleanup on the 95 SL600... (so 3rd in line at the moment).
So glad to see a great following for the model and the availability of excellent information.

In late feb I will be taking an extednded layover in Munich with a side trip to Stuttgart to take the factory tours of MB, Porsche and BMW.. I can post some pics here if you like or you could follow my travel/photo blog of my trip...
