SOLD SOLD: 1993 500E, Sliver/Black, 211kmi, eBay (Birmingham, AL)

This car will be on ebay this week, starting bid expected to be $5,000. Trans needs replacement, has fluid but slips uncomfortably into 2nd gear, would make anyone nervous. I've driven it that way for couple months, crossing my fingers everytime, and as recently as yesterday it shuttled 4 people to and from the talladega nascar race roughly 2 hours away from the house, I will continue to drive it this week. Front brakes and new coolant tank as recently as last week, it has been my daily driver for 5 years since I had it shipped from los angeles to birmingham. It needs new owner and tlc, the only aesthetic tlc that the car has received is washing, the entire roof and rear trunk lid are faded paint as most notable cosmetic imperfections, inside the interior "wood" trim is shot, don't expect beauty there. The car phone option between driver and front passenger is there, but phone cord wiring cover disintegrated, so don't expect an immacculately preserved specimen of those pecularities that were optional on this car.

I will forever miss the driving experience of this car, when a 500e is dialed in, its no surprise it was $80K when new, I kinda always felt like the millenium falcon vs. the rest of the world in this car, she has it where it counts:



If any board members have an interest to pick up a spare 500e that needs love, this might be for you...

Miles as of right now = 210,874, starting it on ebay tonite, starting at $5,000, no reserve. I'm motivated by fast transaction and real buyer, the ebay transaction will require $500 paypal down payment within 24hrs of sale, and cashier's check / cash transaction within 7days for remainder of funds. 1993 Mercedes 500e Porsche-built 4 door muscle

Needs transmission, transmission fluid is there but slipping uncomfortably into 2nd, can't imagine it doesn't need a new transmission to solve that problem. Car still runs and drives. Also, door stopped locking with key, it unlocks, but won't lock, if push down on window locks it will lock all doors

I've driven it that way for couple months while crossing my fingers the entire time, and as recently as Sunday Oct 25th, 2015 I used this car to shuttle 4 people to and from the talladega nascar race roughly 2 hours away from my house. The car had a bunch of engine work including timing updates and wiring harness update a few years back, It now needs new owner and tlc. The entire roof and rear trunk lid are faded paint as most notable cosmetic imperfections, the worst part should be noticeable in the pics. The inside interior "wood" trim is not pretty, both the front and rear storage spaces in between seats and the associated trim is broken, no sliding "wood" enlosures remaining, those materials didn't stand the test of time and my children. The unique old school car phone option is there between driver and front passenger, the phone cord wire covering is disintegrated although the the phone will turn on if for some reason that is of interest. The interior and trunk have seen 5 years of groceries and my kids, the expected wear and tear, not a museum piece. Also, door locks stopped locking with key recently, the key will easily unlock the car but won't lock it, I get around that by manually pushing down on door locks, and the all doors and trunk will lock at once when that is done. This car is intended for someone that can provide it with a 2nd chance, or perhaps for the enthusiast brave enough to fab a manual 5speed into it, or build a racing car with 4 recaro bucket seats from it, there are lots of possibilities, this car deserves another 200K miles!

I will forever miss the driving experience I enjoyed from this car, when you live with a 500e you realize "why" they were originally sold at $80K back in early 90's, there is a high-level of engineering, safety, and speed.

Wow you guys are good! Thats it from 5yrs ago, i still have the oz amgs, but one front cracked at the lugs so only 3 of those 4 oz wheels can be trusted, they are available for sale separately, the carlssons on the car in the current pics are what are for sale with the car

I have met the seller and he is a long time auto enthusiast as well as a great guy. As stated. he has some other very interesting cars from the same facility that assembled ours. I wish you good luck with the sale!
