I have for sale a nice, used Becker BE1492 model radio. This is the stock radio that came on all "facelift" W124 US models, including all US E500 models. It is NOT appropriate for 1992 and 1993 US models, which used the BE1432 two-piece unit.

This unit is actually the BE1492 that was manufactured by Alpine, in Japan.

The unit is in cosmetic VG+/EXC- condition, and is in good working condition including the digital display. It has been tested on my own E500, and the cassette mechanism works well.

If you are looking to replace/refresh a cosmetically challenged or non-working BE1492 with an equivalent unit, or are looking to "retrofit" an aftermarket unit in your facelifted car with a "stock" factory unit, this is an excellent buy.

Price is USD $80, shipped via Priority Mail in the US. That comes out to about $67 for the raw cost of the radio. Five-digit "Unlock Code" will be supplied with the unit.

Photos coming later tonight, including photos of working LCD display.

Cheers,
Gerry

Last photos of working condition of the unit. Radio & cassette operation, using a vintage GVZ U2 cassette from 1999.

Bruce, following up with you via PM.

I have a mint Walkman Sport. If this head unit sells, I think I'll consider putting the Walkman up for sale!
