That's a W212, from what I can see.

With that mileage and in the current market, I would see this car hitting $20K on that platform. I don't think $25K is in reach, though it could hit the low $20s.

The market has gone down a bit for these cars.

For reference, I paid $32.5K for my car (2007 W211 E63) last August, with 24K miles on the odometer. One-owner (wealthy collector), and mine had full MB dealer paperwork, and had $3,500 worth of maintenance done a week before I picked it up. Not to mention new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires in 2022, and new front brake rotors ($$$) also very recently before that. I was satisfied with that price (especially at the time) and it was in line with comps with similar mileage.

Even then, I still had some fettling to do. New fuel pump package for the fuel tank, new power steering pressure hose to replace seeping hose, and repairing the rear sun shade. I had the transmission fluid and filter changed at the servicing-history dealer (MB of Owings Mills) to the tune of $800+, as well as an outstanding service campaign item (checking sunroof/frame bonding) taken care of for free. Other than that, just my own customization.

10/10. Would buy.
This seems more of a collector car at this point than a driver. Not sure if these would drive that much different to justify paying 2-3x more than a regular ol' E55. I at least wouldn't personally drive any 210 here in the salty Chicago winters to take advantage of the 4-Matic. Maybe quicker off the line but then again is it really worth that big of a price gap? I'd rather spend that kinda of money on a W/S210 E60. Cool car but I imagine a very similar driving experience can be had for a fraction of the price.

I drove and still drive 210‘s as a daily. My little collection has basically every variation possible (engine wise).

I was referring to the car itself - condition wise.
The 4-Matics weren’t meant as a performance boost.
People who ordered them were mostly from snowy regions with a lot of hills. Switzerland for example.

By the way, the E60 is a great car. Especially after I upgraded to the SL65 SpeedShift 722.6.
Unnecessary upgrade as the transmission is worth as much as the car today, but I had it laying around.

Wow. I thought the SpeedShift was mostly software? Did you need a different TCU along with Vediamo programming to make it all work? How is the shifting now compared to stock E60?

:3gears:

I wasn't aware that SpeedShift was a 722.6 thing. I thought they had phased it in with the 722.9. Or was it available with the W211 E55 AMG?

Me neither!

Seems like it first appeared on the SL65? The V12-TT was too spicy for the 722.9 so it had to be used with the good ol' indestructible 722.6 until MB could figure out how to make boxes with more gears survive all the torques.

Besides the different internals of the transmission itself (more clutches etc), the valve body is slightly modified and there are different valves installed. The rest is really software. I can provide you (or anyone else) with the necessary software. Preferably from the CLK DTM which I'm using. To answer your question, you need an ME2.8 and an EGS52. Flash the software to the EGS and you’re good to go.

Shifting is sporty as it should be. Makes the M119 feel modern.

AMG SpeedShift was introduced in 2002. I think the 211 E55 has that from stock. I have an W211 E55 as well. Driven 90K KM since 2016. I’m running a stock valve body but a different more aggressive software without torque limit in manual mode.

There are a lot of different engines for 210s. You mean just Brabus, or just V8, or just ...... ?
I can name the engines I have in the 210's. M112, M113, M113K, M119, M120, OM606, OM611, OM613 - I'm starting to think I need to let some go.

As you can see, there are some Brabus in between and I’m missing some engines, that I probably wouldn’t drive anyway. Although a nice 220 D NA would be cool.

You have two of the most exclusive 210. I'm impressed.

Did you ever come across the alleged Carlsson C56 W210?
There's a well known W202 C56. But this one seems to be a 5,6 too!

I have never seen an E56 210.

But I know the 202 :)

Not to get further off topic... but is the Carlsson 5.6L the oddball with 4.2L block bored to 95mm, with custom 98.8mm crank? Always wondered why they did this.

:scratchchin:

In #4 the link to the E56 210.
Looks genuine to me. I send the pictures to one of the former mechanics. Let’s see what he knows about this.

M...M120  Is this one of the Brabus EV12 builds or individual?
It’s a Brabus. But you forgot the „S“.

The information is confirmed. It is indeed a converted car.
This one too?

This one too?
That's the one I was referring to. They share the same engine.

And this is not the only 210 converted to 5.6L. Apparently there is a 2nd one.

In time all these hidden treasures pop up. It just takes a long breath. 😎

I wonder what bore and stroke all these (M119) 5.6 have. Since there's a Brabus 5.6 too.
Väth even had a 5.2. Although they name it V50. But 96.5 x 89 = 5207 cm³. Same as the AMG M117 5.2

Only would make sense that the M119 5.6L have stock 5.0L bore (96.5) and standard 5.6L stroke (98.8), for 5,547cc. That allows using a stock 5L block (no Alusil machining/etching) and just requires crank/rods/pistons. Maybe the 89mm crank did not require machining the rods or block for clearance, but still, poor ROI for small gains. Note only the intake cam was changed, I wonder what specific cams were used.

Väth even had a 5.2. Although they name it V50. But 96.5 x 89 = 5207 cm³. Same as the AMG M117 5.2
Now THAT is bizarre stuff!! Why in the world would Väth go through all the effort of adding 234cc? Maybe they had some leftover M117 5.2L cranks and wanted to play with them. :scratchchin:

But... they claimed IDENTICAL power delivery vs the later 5.0L without WOT enrichment and with the more mellow camshafts. Stock power ratings for the late 5.0L engine are (235kw/319ps/315hp @ 5600, and 470Nm/347tq @ 3900. Väth did a bunch of porting/polishing, plus pointier intake cams, which should have boosted power further above the 240kw rating (not 235kw). These power ratings make no sense.

On paper, adding 4.7% displacement should add at least 4.7% power/torque, plus a bit more due to porting. Estimated output at least 252kw/341ps/337hp with 503Nm/371tq... probably closer to 255Kw/345ps/340hp and 510Nm/375tq?

:brudda:

I think it's about having something special, not so much about having power.
I now think it may even be just a simple misprint. 85 instead of 89 mm stroke.
Otherwise Väth would have named it V52. Just as they did with V72 M120 and V47 and V58 M113.

Leave the question open as to why someone would choose the Väth V50 instead of the M-B 5L M119. After all, the specifications are the same.
It must be about having something special. And that even goes beyond performance. Because that is usually not even the case.

Disclaimer. 3rd image is about E34 models.

I don't think so, because the Väth document says there are different crank, rods, and pistons. If the stroke was stock it wouldn't need any of those. And, it specifically says "long stroke displacement enhancement".

:tumble:

I like MBs designo interiors immensely. This may not be labeled as such but it's a good example of the kind of interiors they can create.

I'm planning to do something similar with my own 210. VERY nice!

In case you're trying to gather some ideas, I added the various interiors for the 210 AMGs I had on my computer. Some elegant, others questionable like the red interior on a yellow car...

Ideally I'd want to get some blue interior for both of my blue E55s, maybe even blue wood trim.

Thanks! I see the last recorded mileage is 411,391 miles.

I recently came across VIN WDBJF74H7XA934753 which had a reported 1,012 miles and sold for $43k, that got me thinking on what's out there.

I've looked at individual rare color cars which are mostly gone but wanted to scale this up and scrape search result images, title issuances and last reported mileages for all the US cars.
VIN WDBJF74H7XA934753 sold for $57.5k at Broad Arrow auction, I'm guessing by some flipper dealer. Interesting to see a cracked dashboard and faded wood trim on such a low mile E55. It must've been outside for a good chunk of time. I believe this is the highest public W210 E55 sale but certainly not the cleanest one.
