SPOTTED 500E ON CA FREEWAY THIS MORNING

This AM while transitioning from the 22 Frwy West to the 405 Frwy North in Orange County I spotted a 500E which appeared to have a fresh new RED paint job.

I only saw it from behind and got close to it on the driver's side. It looked like a really nice ride. It was lowered and riding on I think 17" chrome monoblocks.

I think he got off the 405 Frwy at Palo Verde in Long Beach. I did manage to take a photo but I can't download it today.

I have never seen this car before and was wondering if it belongs to someone on the board.

The copy machine had a Media Slot for my Sony Duo Memory Chip. I will download a real photo at the first opportunity.

I've seen the same car recently, as well as a silver E500 in Irvine near the 405 on MacArthur 2 weeks ago. Either of you guys members?

There's a CPA in Huntington Beach who had a red '93 with interior, he "sold" it to his son, who I believe may have a route off the 405 north of the 22.. could be him. It was stock when I saw it 3 years ago.

Roma is correct. The rear fenders are not flared. Very nice looking 124 though!

At first glance, you would appear to be correct, but I'll reserve final judgement for the more clear photo that Terry is going to publish.

You may be right.

I only saw it briefly from the rear only and the front fenders looked flared enough to me. It was a nice looking ride no matter.

Yep, the fenders are not 036 flared and the rear spoiler is too high compared to an 036.

100% not 036 guys look at the rocker panels ... rear fender and front fender are not flared. Front fender plastic panel is regular 124. It sits lower than rwgular 124 though ..

Spotted a black 036 on black wheels in fountain valley on Ellis blvd just now (~2:00pm). Car was dumped. Looks great and very clean.

Spotted an E500 today in Santa Monica (going north on 14th St). Stock Pearl Black with what looked like AMG Monoblock wheels. The car was behind me, passed me to take left turn and not even a head nod as he passed me. An elderly gentleman was driving with white hair. The car looked very clean and I got a great view in my rear view mirror and damn, the 036 looks bloody hot on the road.

Yea, that is true, sometimes I ask somebody to drive my 036 to enjoy it from a side and watch my beauty driving ... It is really stunning ...

Guys,

Finally I got the photo of the alleged 500E I spotted. After a 2nd look and as confirmed by Roma and the rest of you it is NOT a 500E.

Just a nice looking 124.

Anyway I said I would post the photos. They are not that great since I was doing about 60 mph in traffic.

I only got 2 before he peeled off.
