Straight cardan shaft versus flexible (the original)

Hi.

It could be several reasons for having a flexible cardan, such as ground clearance, equalize any axial forces, twisting in the chassis etc.. Do anyone have considerations/experience on this?

My only reason for replacing the original with a straight cardan is less parts to maintain, less weight and better response.
