• Hi Guest !

    Welcome to the 500Eboard forum.

Since its founding in late 2008, 500Eboard has become the leading resource on the Internet for all things related to the Mercedes-Benz 500E and E500. In recent years, we have also expanded to include the 400E and E420 models, which are directly related to the 500E/E500.

We invite you to browse and take advantage of the information and resources here on the site. If you find helpful information, please register for full membership, and you'll find even more resources available. Feel free to ask questions, and make liberal use of the "Search" function to find answers.

We hope you will become an active contributor to the community!

"THE 500E" License plate, who bought it?

I can apply for a similar plate in Norway, THE500E, too many characters to get a space between the letters and the numbers. Price is NOK 9000 (USD 1074, EURO 897) and valid for 10 years. In Norway is this an additional reg.number which you apply for to carry on your vehicle instead of the original reg.number given on first time registration. It is connected to the plate owner, but cannot be transfered to other vehicles you may have, and it cannot be used outside Norway. After 10 years it expires, but you can apply for a renewal and pay another NOK 9000. It's a nice gadget - but I'll pass.

are you talking about the 6.0 m119?
Yes, there was a custom build done in SoCal, M119 in either 6.0 or larger (6.2/6.3L?) displacement, lots of work done on the cylinder heads. Expected power output was near 500hp but we never heard anything after the engine was shipped from the colonies back to UK...

Oh yes, it was going to be 6.2L.

It was never shipped back, it’s still in Cali. We lost touch with the guy building it and all the parts and the engine itself it’s still there. It was intended to go into our Renntech 500e as the finishing touch.

Hopefully this summer we can fly out there and get back in touch.

Kinda like seeing the Boy Racer Honda's with the wheels sticking way outside the lowered body, a large wing on the boot --
and best of all, a large windshield sticker that says "HONDA".

That window sticker says it all, and always helps me identify the car manufacture of the car the asshole is driving...

Hey what are these numbies going to do when we're all driving electric cars some day? No more "look at me" straight pipes!!

I guess they can play a recording of a loud piston engine running instead...

YA just need a set of external speakers to keep the neighborhood aware that there's a HONDA coming up the road,

Who needs a custom license plate that tells you the Model, or a Windshield Decal that tells you the manufacture?

Just plug in and flip up the volume... :gsxracer: :coolgleam:

I've wanted that plate ever since I met you Paul at the MB World car meet I organised. I hope you are keeping well.

Dik Best
I've been in Dubai for nearly 6 years now, hard to believe. Join the Facebook group "W124 Enthusiasts" , they generally organize the UK meets there.
