Any of you experienced theif mechanics in san diego. With a good amount of certainty, I believe a mechanic swapped my 500e headlihts with 300.e headlights. First, I can't believe I didn't notice until latter. He's the only guy I have taken my Mb 500e to. I was just starting to trust mechanics but now I think they rank down there with lawyers . .

If you are certain.. call the mechanic and offer him the option of returning your 500 lamps as well as keeping the ones on the car for your trouble or the police will be called. If he wants his old lights back tell him OK, but after you replace them. Be careful so you don't drop them before returning them of course. Do not return them until you have your lights in your possession.
You will need to prove to the Police that you had the 500 lights on the car. That can probably be done by giving them the numbers you wrote down. To refresh your memory about the correct numbers on the 500 lights visit Dave's site.
I would tell him that you will be over in 20 minutes either to pick up the headlight or to call the Police. Better yet, show up, demand the lights and if he says no walk back to the car and call.
Probably should get a new mechanic too...
Kind Regards,

Ron
