Hello Gents,

I read that graphite dry lubricant is good for our old w124 or w202 key tumblers, whether ignition of side doors or trunk?

I never realized what a hassle it is if these key tumblers fail. Best to maintain them for their entire life.

Here is a Graphite lubricant brand pic attached. I also read that super lube Dri-flim may also be good for this?

Anyone here with experience on this?

I wish everyone here forever useful life of their original keys and key tumblers!

thank you all.

Thanks for the tip! I'll edit that thread title to include the word "tumblers".
very cool! appreciate that.

also, i did a google search and found other forums discussing this lock tumbler cylinder longevity.

though it seems Mercedes lubricant grease is what Mercedes suggest from factory, a dry lubricant such as Super Lube Dri-Film PTSE works great.

Some say the Mercedes white grease can still attrack and trap dust and dirt particles in the tumblers.
