Need to replace hard-to-find Front Left/Right Brake Dust shields - #1294201844/1294201944 - damaged by incompetence of non-mercedes savvy
mechanics in an emergency repair (It's a lon-n-ng not-happy story!!)
Any leads/ideas will be gratefully appreciated and acted upon....

Thread has been moved to the correct “WANTED TO BUY” sub-forum.

Those will be hard to find, assuming you have a 1994 E500 with the larger dust shields. The donor to look for is R129 SL600, find someone parting one out, then hope the shields aren't buggered.

Both sides are NLA. And €500 each is just silly. Ten years ago these were less than $100 USD list price each.

Alternately, you could use 129-420-21-44 and 129-420-22-44, which are a hair smaller, but still expensive at $150-$175 each brand new from discount dealers.

Does the 129-420-21-44 and 129-420-22-44 fit with the bigger E500 brake discs?

Yup. The smaller front shields do not wrap around the edge of the rotor like the rear shields. You can use smaller shields on the front brakes without issues. The difference in diameter is small, I think maybe 10mm?

Unfortunately this MB Online Shop is not always up to date. Your order will be canceled, if you try to order them.
I mainly use this site to check the availability and price before contacting to local shop, but good to know that there is a uncertainty. Thanks.

The MB Classic Center Parts Search is always up to date. Highly Recommended.

Delayed update due to Xmas Holiday. Was beyond lucky to find a pair locally. As Dave GSXR outlined, they are off a parted-out R129. After cleaning up, tweaking and quick touch up paint, they are ready for installation by the knowledgeable, experienced, savvy, Mercedes German-trained bi-lingual ASE mechanic I was also very lucky to find to fill the void caused by the retirement of previous long-time mechanic. He sold his business to an assistant in the shop who, unfortunately, is few of degrees short of Summa Cum Laude and precipitated this whole sorry tale-of-woe. Which, hopefully, ends in the next few days, when all the correct front-end OEM parts - struts, springs, LCA's, pads, rotors, hoses, etc.,etc., - and of course, Brake Dust Shields, are installed !! Fingers crossed. As Arnold said, "I'll be bahck............'
