Was trying to change my springs and ran into a problem

Hey everyone did anyone seen something like this I was at my mechanic changing springs we change the right one and started working on the left side dismount a strut and it felt weird I pulled on it and the bushing was in my hand now I have to change my struts and live car on the lift over night because parts are coming tomorrow here some pictures

One time on one car. Not a 124.036. Suspect creeping corrosion damage weakened the threaded stud. Extended operation with expired gas cells won't do them any good, either.

That rear hydro-leg (SLS shock) was TOAST. Note the foam stop buffer completely disintegrated... all that is left is the red dust!! Yikes.

Pics below show bad vs good. New ones should help the ride quality & handling.

YES!!! I assumed both sides would be replaced, if not, PLEASE do both at the same time. The other side will be just as shot, despite being in 1 piece.

That's about $1,200-1,400 out of the automatic $5K of the lurking, deferred maintenance that EVERY E500E carries...
