WANTED WTB 1993 500E Transmission

WTB 1993 500E Transmission
Unless you're going to rebuild it yourself, I'd go with Sun Valley. For the effort and cost to remove and replace it, the replacement unit should be new or rebuilt AFAIC. For that labor and cost, I'd be removing any and all questions about the box itself.

I understood that abad190 wanted to buy outright a transmission, so he did not have an exchange unit. Sun Valley is an exchange price.

To my knowledge, Sun Valley doesn't require a core, and whether they do is irrelevant. Either way, for the work involved, I recommend a new or rebuilt transmission, not merely an old one that fits.

Any monetary difference between those two units is lost as soon as you need to redo the work. And any '93 transmission that hasn't been rebuilt now needs rebuilding, 30 years later. So unless he puts a rebuilt one in now, he'll soon need to redo the work when it needs rebuilding.

You should probably sell yours to Sun Valley as a core and have them pay shipping.

You are entitled to your opinion.
The price from Sun Valley is $2250 exchange, I cannot see a price without a core.
In any case I would prefer an original low mileage trans, which a local shop here in FL is quite capable of inspecting & refreshing.
As i have 3 E500's I would not sell my trans as a core for little money. I would rather keep it until the day I may need it for one of my cars.

But you're not selling to yourself and my advice (not opinion) was not intended for you.
