WANTED WTB: Blower motor control unit (p/n 124 821 21 51) for '94 E420 (w/ filters)

I'm looking to keep my '94 E420 on the road. It's not long for this world as the transmission is experiencing the dreaded 3-5 sec reverse engagement delay, plus its been hit (or hit something) numerous times as the kid's learning to drive car. Despite my best efforts, its gotten to the point where its just not worth spending any significant $ on. Yet in spite of it all, the motor runs great and the car is still very drivable, plus its nice not having to worry about where you drive or park it. Most recently, the fan blower (after years of working only on the low setting) quit completely. I can hear the a relay or something engage when I push the a/c and other buttons, but there is no air output any longer. I've checked/replaced the various fuses (strip & torpedo) and still nothing. So before this becomes a parts car, I'm hoping to find a used part somewhere and replace the current control unit to see if I can make it through winter with some defrost and interior heat.

Very likely either the blower motor itself (worn out brushes), or a bad speed controller (located below the blower motor - NOT fun to replace). Check with David Hendy for used parts, he is located near you... he's on this forum, and also has an eBay store. He'll usually sell parts cheaper 'off eBay' to forum members. It isn't likely the pushbutton unit inside failed. Make sure the blower is good before you go replacing the speed controller... a bad motor can kill the controller. Any 1994-95 (USA model year) 124 chassis is a donor, all chassis/engine. The parts from 86-93 models WILL NOT work.

Tip: On the 94-95 style speed controller, you can remove the square electrical part from the heat sink separately, which is easier than getting the entire heat sink in & out. A dab of fresh thermal paste should be used on installation.
