WANTED WTB: Late E500 Front Shock Absorbers A1243205030

Does anyone have original MB front shocks for the E500 (93-95)? Part number for my car is showing up as A1243205030 and I have been told they are NLA from MB. I am struggling to locate the exact aftermarket compatible part i.e. Sachs, therefore wouldn't mind waiting a while for the OEM part. Would need shipping to Dubai, UAE. Many thanks.

Who is saying they are NLA? A forum member got a set late last year, documented here somewhere. I forget who it was, photos are below.

Note the new p/n is 124-320-50-30-64, still made by Sachs, but now manufactured in Turkey.

MBCC also shows them as available:

The local dealer here in Dubai when I used 124-320-50-30 which is what EPC is telling me. OK I will check that out, Dave I assume those shocks also work for a 94 E500 Limited (IIRC it was only the rear springs different for the Limited?).

The EPC will almost never display part number suffixes (-64, -80, etc). The EPC shows A1243205030 however the dealer parts inventory system (Paragon) will show any supercessions, in this case adding the -64 suffix. The -64 suffix typically indicates a supplier change (particularly for brake rotors or pads), although in this case it is still Sachs/ZF for both.

And yes, the Limited uses the same front struts as standard E500. Only the AMG E60 had different struts / SLS hydrolegs.

Thx Dave will get these ordered :)

I am ordering a pair of the front struts for my 1994 E500. I have never replaced them, surprisingly. I'm starting to get a bit nervous that they may go NLA in the not too distant future, so figured that I'd get a set to have on hand. I already have all of the rubber boots and bump stops in hand for the E500.

As far as I know, these are the .036-specific front struts with the proper internal rebound-limiting spring. MB Annapolis is selling them for $188 + MD state tax.

Per the discussion on this thread, the ISPPI is showing the supercession to the latest part number for the front struts.

These are still available AFAIK. As previously documented on the forum, the -64 suffix indicates a change in COO, from Germany to Turkey; made by Sachs with MB Star logo. Still a good idea to hoard a pair if they have never been replaced or have high miles.
