I'm looking to purchase the outside rear door window stay bar for the left hand and the right hand side. These are NLA according to Husker. Looking for units that are still black and haven't discolored to the washed out gold tone that these parts will take on after some years.

Tim:

Those are NLA....you will need to purchase core bars and have them re anodized black

Yes, I'm pursuing that path alternatively right now, but thought I'd give it a try and post a WTB here. Snowball in hell's chance, I guess :)

Another option is to find a company which does wraps and have them cover those pieces with black wrap.

I seem to remember Louis (nocfn) doing something similar to his roof rails a while back.

You may want to replace the window channels if you are removing the stay bar. These are the part numbers for your car which should have 3mm glass.

124 725 01 25
124 725 02 25

124 735 05 25
124 735 06 25

I don't know which two are rear. The first two were about $47.00 each last year. The last two were about $75.00 and $79.00 respectively.
You may be able to pull just the rear of the channel out to replace the stay.

ThatÂ’s a really good idea! I will check that out tomorrow as an alternative to anodizing. IÂ’m getting a new windshield installed next week and purchased brand new OEM roof gutters and all the rear window trim pieces to replace the weathered units that are on the car when the new windshield goes in. Call me crazy, but the weathered gold tone of the old units is just bugging me beyond belief on these cars. The only items missing now are the rear passenger door stay bars.....so really appreciate the insights from everyone on how to resolve this.

Stating the obvious here, but this forum rocks

Yes the matte black black out tape for BMW works very well, still there more than a year.
Scotch 33+, right?

May be that, but search for shadow tape for bmw IIRC.

I used Scotch 33 electrician's tape on the 'gold' trim on our '95 E420. I hated the gold. The matte black looks fantastic and the tape is a couple years old and still looks great.

I was too lazy to do all that prep and masking. I just wiped off the trim with denatured alcohol or something and applied the tape. Simple and done.

Thats about all it takes really - clean and apply.

Unless you are a concourse type, this is a simple, aesthetic fix for a nla part.

At 25mph, freshly cut weeds are as nice as freshly cut front lawn...

I have 09-19 new can change it for 10-19!
so if you will find two 10-19 we can help each other!

Not wanted anymore. Close to four years of looking and finally found a NOS set.
