• Hi Guest !

    Welcome to the 500Eboard forum.

Since its founding in late 2008, 500Eboard has become the leading resource on the Internet for all things related to the Mercedes-Benz 500E and E500. In recent years, we have also expanded to include the 400E and E420 models, which are directly related to the 500E/E500.

We invite you to browse and take advantage of the information and resources here on the site. If you find helpful information, please register for full membership, and you'll find even more resources available. Feel free to ask questions, and make liberal use of the "Search" function to find answers.

We hope you will become an active contributor to the community!

    Sincerely,
    500Eboard Management

2015 East Coast E500E Spring GTG: May 2nd & 3rd

Sorry for the late update. Looks like we'll be taking the "fancy" car as per the Miss AMGTDNJ, and if possible we'd like to meet you all so if we could add two for dinner that would be great :)

Great, no problem. Are there any other events that you were thinking of joining? Safe travels!

I'll have an update later today (Friday) with regard to whether I can change my flight to get a direct red-eye from San Francisco to Dulles instead of having to go through Houston with a lay-over as my current flights are now set up. I'll do this in person at the SFO United Club desk rather than via phone. Crazy week this week - sorry I've been incommunicado.

In any case, I have a rental car reserved and also will be staying at the Marriott in Tyson's Corner as my hotel.

Thanks
Gerry

Omw from Fairfield to Cabin John... Lots of Snaps posted for anyone that is curious 404.805.1357

Do we have to do anything or sign up for the car show? I'm not a Mb car club member but do have a BMW cca membership and motorsportsreg account?

Not that I know of I think we only had to sign up for say if they were getting judged?

Correct. If you're only coming to join the 500eBoard corral, you need do nothing except show up by 9 am. We will be right next to the 500eBoard banner!

OK I'm already judged enough in life, one more question what parking color for the cars and coffee? red or orange.

At the moment, I don't know. The organizers are setting aside reserved spots for our entire group so that all the E500E's can be displayed together. I haven't heard yet where that will be. Either look for the 500eBoard banner or ask one of the organizers where the 500E group parking is located. If we get more precise info b4 then, we will post it here.

Wife and I checked in last night...at the Tyson's Corner Marriott.

Need to arrive at Katie's by 630am, correct?

Where Is the coin wash around here? Anyone getting together tonight. Just arrived at the Marriott from Toronto

Cars and Coffee was a lot of fun! Putting faces with names and associating them with their cars helps keep this small community connected.

There were, I think, eight 500Es represented. Six that were together and two that were too late to park with the pack. (I was one of those.)

I took a ton of pictures and will post them when time allows.

Looks like a fine day to engage in automobilia. Wish I was there. Keep the pictures coming!

Thanks to the organizers and all participants for a great event! Looking forward to next year (hopefully with my own E500E and/or a 16V by then).

We had a total of 12 E500Es that showed up today. All in all a good showing. I think we'll also have some photos and perhaps a sidebar article about the Meet in the MBCA Star magazine.

A huge thanks to everyone who came out for the gathering. Was nice to make lots of new friends and reconnect with some old ones. I particularly enjoyed meeting Allgonquin, Melville, autoworrks, AMGTestDriverNJ, rrplatz, Hollybrook, s4cruiser, jeff0093 (with the bitchin' 18" Neez wheels!!), Ntrepid, bio hound, and others. And of course seeing vatc, Jono :jono:, and Trae again.

Overall the planning was great and the gathering had just the right amount of activity with plenty of "down time" for those who needed it (including myself).

Hearty thanks to the Wash DC & NoVa crew for putting on a great time for everyone !!

And a big thanks for people coming all the way from Toronto, Connecticut, New York, Texas, North Carolina and other parts near and far!

Any chance those banners will be available for sale?

I only ordered one banner, which I gave to Honcho to have & carry with him to the next 500eBoard GTG, wherever that might be. The process involved in creating this banner was very easy, so you might just want to come up with your own custom design. However, if anyone is interested in ordering their own copy of this specific banner, pm me and I will send you the image file that I used. IIRC, the largest std size offered was 4' x 8' (the one in the picture was 2'H x 4'W). We also created a poster-sized (18"W x 24"H) "E500E information sheet" (now attached). If anyone is interested in that file, pm me and I will send you that image file.

Just got back home, so will get additional pics and comments up later.

I think it's safe to say "a good time was had by all". Many thanks to the organizers and it was really great to put faces to names on the board. Among other things we got to see two, no three, "unicorns" - the gorgeous dark blue, teal blue, and red cars. (forgive me I don't know the "official" color names...) Gerry has a photo of two of them above. We had a visit from Terry Kiwala, the President of MBCA as well as lots of other folks attending the Deutsche Marque Concours who were ogling the .036's. I'm sure many other pics will be posted shortly. I just put my car to bed after a spirited run back home (about 100 miles for me) and as usual I turned back and had a quick look at it before I closed the garage door....

Here is a shot from yesterday's drive, taken near Mt. Vernon

Unfortunately, our other member who helped organize this GTG, 8899, had a last minute family matter which precluded him from joining us. Also a big shout out to classiccarsallday who recruited a photographer (Sam) to take a lot of high-res group and individual pictures, which I am really looking forward to seeing. Lastly, a big thank you to Honch for first inspiring us to host this GTG and then traveling a long way (red-eye from Cali) to join us.

Hopefully everyone has made it home safely. Thank you to our visitors and participants for bringing the good weather with them! It was a beautiful weekend. Now we look forward to seeing pictures from the next 500eBoard GTG, wherever that may be.

Special thanks to Hollybrook and his wife and daughters (and three dogs) for having me over to their lovely home for dinner after the event. Had a great evening of conversation before heading to the airport about 8 PM to catch my 10 PM flight. Looong long week/weekend but had a total blast !!

Wheels down IAH (Houston) 12:00 midnight last night. Hit my bed about 12:45 AM.

I hope there is another Gathering in DC next year! Banner and poster arrived safe and sound home with me, vatc !! Thanks !

It should be known that for some reason, Honcho passed on the offer to mow my lawn. :-(
