USED 1998 MERCEDES-BENZ E60 AMG

1998 Mercedes-Benz AMG E60 Estate offered for sale by McLaren Toronto. We always find ourselves with these interesting cars. Recently we stumbled upon this beautiful and very rare E60 Estate. During the production of this particular car AMG and Mercedes were still in the middle of changes and the full acquisition. What started life as a sport package E420 Estate the vehicle was sent to Affalterbach for the AMG treatment. The W210 chassis was fully stripped down to receive the 6L E60 Package. Starting with the engine, the 6L was the second largest engine offered, bored and stroked with modified cylinder heads and cams the engine was able to produce a whopping 376HP and 420 Ft-Lbs of torque. In 1998!!! Moving to the suspension, the E60 received their signature big brake kit, stiffer suspension with revised Sway bars and ground effects package. With the suspension and aero all complete it was time to turn to rolling stock. One of the most signature and famous wheel designs ever this E60 is equipped with 18” AMG Aero II wheels to complete the look! With the performance and exterior finished. We look to the interior where this car was ordered with full Red Leather interior. This includes center console and door cards. The interior was also treated with the full Carbon Fiber package. The execution is nothing short of beautiful. Original delivery of this beautiful Estate was in Saudi Arabia before the car was shipped to Japan very early in its life. The vehicle enjoys a very steady service history while in Japan proving the 69,000km this vehicle has covered. Metering the car shows original paint with the exception of the left rear quarter panel which has been refinished to a top standard. What neat car for any collector. This car has to be seen to be appreciated!

Please visit www.mclarentoronto.com or call 1 877 780 5027 to arrange your personal consultation of this E60 estate, a division of Pfaff Automotive offers convenient and secure World Wide Delivery! We look forward to hearing from you

Re: FS: 1998 E60 AMG wagon (W210), Silver/Red, 69kkm, $46k CDN (Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada)

I've met with Robert, the guy who runs Splendid Auto, and he seems like a real car guy. He often has very interesting cars for sale (and rarely has dull ones). His cars are often featured on sites like Bring a Trailer (not that this is necessarily a sign of quality but it shows he knows which cars attract enthusiasts). He used to be a cinematographer so his photos are always great. Full disclosure, he is trying to sell my 124 cabriolet on consignment for me. It's a Japan import so I can't get it into the US at a price that makes sense until 2017.

Another nice estate but that carbon fibre look (well I'm assuming it's just a look) don't do it for me.

Ditto Above,

See Dave's post on the OTHER E60 Wagon.

Rep wheels? Even if they are, they *make* the car!

I see AMG logos on the wheels but they may be refinished... logos appear to be partially 'filled' with paint.

Those are definitely the real deal however in looking closely at the picture of the rear one I would agree with GSXR's assessment about it having been refinished. However the front one looks legit to me in the picture. Regardless that is just picking the fly $hit out of the pepper to me. Taking into consideration the entire package that is bar none one of the baddest 210's I have ever seen. I'm just glad it is in Canada because if it were here in the states that thing could very easily have me making some very "irrational" decisions...

:hooked:

Re: FS: 1998 E60 AMG wagon (W210), Silver/Red, 69kkm, $46k CDN (Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada)

The red leather interior has real shwing! Wasn't the original trim black birdseye maple?

Re: FS: 1998 E60 AMG wagon (W210), Silver/Red, 69kkm, $46k CDN (Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada)

Color combo is smoking hot (even though I don't like W210s)! That and the black/blue combo AMG were doing back then were the only split combos I could consider.

But Silver over Red has always had me, even when others thought it was too far out there. I looked at the AMG's in that color (sadly only W210s), Audi did an S8 for 2003 only in that color, which I loved. Eventually I got that combo in my M3. Classic and timeless.

And yes, I think black birdseye maple was the original wood.

Re: FS: 1998 E60 AMG wagon (W210), Silver/Red, 69kkm, $46k CDN (Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada)

Most likely it came from the factory with wood trim... I don't think MB was offering any carbon-fibre interior trim packages on the W210 chassis. Pretty sure that first appeared on the W211, or maybe it was late W210?

Would need the VIN / datacard for this car to check for sure.

Price had dropped to $39985

That red interior is a bit tasty.

I know that this ia an old thread but just wanted to update those that liked the car. I bought the E60 in 2016 and shipped to to the UK, its stored in a with a professional storage company unitl 2022 when I can get it into the USA, but it hasn't stopped me from taking it on some great adventures. I've driven to Essen in Germany and back visiting Arnhem Bridge which has a family connection, have driven down to Monaco via Paris, tasing the autoroute to Lyon and then going up over the Alps staying in Sisteron overnight then onto Nice and Monaco and Italy

Haha I’m doing the same on my E60t .... the 25 years goes off build date . Dec 2021 mine turns 25 and I have planned to put it on bat. Urs is incredible. We belong to a very small group of 210 E60 wagon owners !

Me: Thinking what ‘95 or ‘96 car was Euro only that I can find and leave until the 25 year mark... besides the Audi RS2

An M3 with the S54 engine (320 PS), a late model TVR Griffith 500 or a Ford Escort Cosworth might be worth a look

If it has to be a mid 90s European car, I would get a pristine Citroen XM ...... before they start getting dearer and dearer. The last of the really oddball big Citroens. I miss driving a car with full hydropneumatic suspension on all four corners, as well as self centering DIRAVI steering.

Jlaa,

Is that you standing next to your old Citrus XM? That's so :hot:

I thought you had more hair. :stickpoke:

Already have one of these, although not the CSL, which I don’t want anyway. I’m one of the few who actually prefer the convertible. Although I may one day go with CSL intake, software and exhaust. But that’s more for the sound of the S54 than anything.

Should have said in my post that I meant the e36

I like the styling of the E36 very very much. Back when creases/lines still meant something. :-) I had one in granitsilber 20 years ago and I liked it very much. You can see the CX that I had at the time in the background as well.

Yes creases and lines used to make German cars look incredible , that’s why my love for 126 coupes comes from :)

Yeah that’s a nice one. Too bad the US ones didn’t get the S54. Then again, I’ve always liked the way the E46 blended old and new, sort of like the W220. To me, they say “timeless” more than “90’s”, which I like. The E5E fits that same bill to me. The most often question I get is “what year is that” — partially because MB made the W124 so long, but partially because I think the flares on this give it a modernity that translates forward very well. That’s what Sacco stands for to me, in retrospect. His masterpieces were all timeless as opposed to time locked.
