Thank you. This is exactly what I do. Mobil-1 Group III 15W-50 is exactly $22.88 (I just looked it up) per 5 quart jug when I bought it last in late September / 2019. Fall is also when Mobil, every year, does its rebate promotions --- $12 off every 5 quart jug. Every year I stock up --- $22.88 - $12 = 10.88 / 5 quart jug, or $2.18 per quart, with free Walmart delivery to your door. I just received my rebates at the top of Jan / 2020.

You have until the end of Sept 30 to purchase the oil (I buy from Walmart.com) and you have the entire month of October to claim your rebate. This year, Mobil-1 15w-50 is fifty cents cheaper per 5-qt jug, but the rebate is a little less generous than the previous year at $10 off per 5-qt jug.

This makes the total cost, with free Walmart delivery to your door, ($22.38 - $10) / 5 quart jug = $2.48 per quart.

Even though Walmart is usually not one of the listed participating retailers, each year I order oil from them online as the grade is often not stocked in the store.

Hey kiev although $16 may not seem exciting at first, look at it this way, for ~ $16, Walmart will also sell you a tube of Astroglide, including Ultra Gentle or Toy n Joy.

You can get lubed up in more ways than one for no extra cost...

BTW I just bought my 10 quarts worth and realized it is now $0.002 cheaper per quart in April 2021 than it was in Sept 2020. $22.37 for 5 quarts now instead of $22.38 for 5 quarts, not including the $10 rebate per 5 quarts.

Just a friendly tip for anyone trying to get the rebate --- I got the rebate for the last 4 years without any headaches. This year my rebate got rejected several times due to "insufficient documentation" .... even after submitting the receipt in pdf format, jpg format, smoke signal format, etc.....

So I called them to ask them "what is up?" Apparently they have been getting lots of fradulent rebate claims via Walmart purchases, so the rebate company wants proof of receipt of the products as well. So I just went to the Wally world website to pull up the order status which shows that the product has been received, and preso, the rebate was approved on the same phone call....... just a tip.

UPDATE - the rebate is back. I have purchased my yearly 10 quarts of Mobil 1 15W-50 from Walmart.com.
Inflation is here. The overall deal is still a good one, but not as good as before. The cost has gone up and the rebate amount has gone down.

The rebate is now back. The offer expires on Aug 31st. The deal is very mediocre now. We can see from the 1st post in the thread how the after-rebate costs of M1 15W-50 has jumped nearly 100% in price from $2.19/qt to $4.19/qt.

Well, Exxon Mobil is pretty dang profitable. In the past 5 years, EPS has increased in lock step with share price ...... but the price that people are willing to pay for each unit of earnings from XOM has declined! (PE ratio). A shareholder of XOM should be happy. A consumer of XOM products ---- perhaps not so much.

The rebate is back again for 2025! Hallelujah! The rebate was MIA for 2024, and now its back. I've updated the pricing on the first post of this thread. One side benefit - the net price in 2025 is cheaper than the net price was in 2023.

That's what I tried but I have no idea really since I don't work for Mobil Oil. Let me know if you get a confirmation email or something like that after applying for the rebate. It seems they have changed rebate processors and I didn't get a confirmation.

Several folks complain about the same thing -- no confirmation of rebate submission, various rejections by the rebate processor due to the receipt not clearly showing Walmart.com as the retailer, and the rebate processor rebating one instead of two jugs.

Other folks report that the process worked smoothly.

Here is the receipt that I submitted. Hopefully this works. I tried to be as clear as possible. I've learned so much from @gsxr in editing / calling out specific areas of interest in all my car-related photography/notes/documentation. LOLOLOL!!!

Closing the loop. Took almost 4 weeks, but I got $15 back total from this rebate. We turned in 2 separate purchases of 10qts (2x 5qt jugs) and they returned $10 GC on one receipt and $5 GC on the other. Both submissions used identical receipt copy(PDF printout from walmart.com) so appears actual warm bodies may be processing these forms, too.

FWIW offer still good until Aug 31.
