Dave,
Hi , will these fit a 1993 500E , I am looking for a set like these but unfortunately I live in Connecticut?
Any idea of cost to ship? Do you have any better photos?
My email is algenn@optonline.net thanks Alan

i am pretty sure 8.5 would fit but 7.5 would not clear front breaks. You would need square setup of 8.5

You should look into W210 E55 wheels 18x8 and 18x9 they are direct fit for 036 no need for spacers good luck

Alan, these wheels may "fit" a 500E, maybe - not positive the fronts will clear the caliper face without spacers. However they are not the correct size for a 500E; specifically the front 7.5" wheel is smaller than stock and not recommended. And, they will not look right inside the 500E's flared fenders. This set of wheels would be nice on any other 124 chassis (after rolling the rear fender lips).

Dario is correct, if you want Monoblocks, you need the W210 E55 AMG staggered set mentioned in post #5.

The guy I bought it from has installed the larger brake set up from the 600sl, so I assume that will also affect the wheel size.
Anyone know where I can source the correct wheels for this car , they don't have to be the AMG mono blocks .
As usual many thanks for the invaluable advice.

Alan, it depends if you have the early 600SL brakes (320mm iron Ate, fits under stock 16" wheels) or the late SL600 brakes (334mm Brembo, requires 17" wheels).

Wheels are very subjective, it very much depends what you personally think looks good, if you prefer stock-ish sizes or want the fattest wheels that can be stuffed under the fenders, if you prefer square sets to allow rotating tires front to rear, etc etc...

:seesaw:

understand , I think realistically I want whatever will make the car ride best whilst not ruining its look. just need to know how to find them?

I have these on my 91 300TE. No rubbing or any other issues. Currently on stock suspension however I'm planning on a small drop with either 500E springs or H&R.

The wagon sits high enough that it's unlikely to ever rub in the rear, courtesy of SLS. Put a Sportline suspension on the wagon though, and you may encounter issues over bumps and/or hard cornering. I have a set of the same size wheels and on a 124 Sportline sedan, the rear rubbed when the suspension compressed over bumps.

Obviously not an issue on the E500E, of course. If I lived near FL, I'd be awfully tempted to get these for my 300D, since I can't seem to find 7.5 Evos...

The guy I bought these from had them on a lowered 400E420 and he said he didn't have any rubbing issues. I do have a set of the proper W124 Monoblocks which I could use if these rub but they need to be re-finished.

Someone should buy the OP's wheels since thats a very good price!

I can't tell you how many times I've heard that claim. There was a guy on a forum a few years back who fit 10" wheels on the back of a stock S124 and claimed they "didn't rub". Well sure, if you just roll the car back and forth on level ground, of course they won't rub. But in real-world driving, at more than 0.1 lateral G's, or hitting a speed bump at over 5mph, etc... different story. Still "don't rub"? Let me drive the car for 5 minutes and I'll fix that.
