Good day everyone
I'm somewhere in the endless process of getting my 400E to a decent condition. It's slowly time to get around the windshield that needs a replacement due to some damages and lots of scratches.
I noticed that in Europe cars the filter strip was green. The US market cars my 400 comes from it was green or yellow/gold/something like that.
My one looks like this:
Due to EPC the part should be: A1246703301 WINDSHIELD, WITH HEAT-ABSORBING, SHOT-COLORED FOIL.
Is the colour of the strip correct then or is it just a result of 25 years spent in sunny CA so the original colour went away?
It matches the aluminium rails so seems to be original. I just want to confirm before getting brand new one and fighting with MB I don't want a green strip
EDIT: ok, I found that the aluminium rails most probably should not be gold: http://www.500eboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2757
So now the question is - is it the same story with the strip (different chemistry process, same colour effect)?
