1992 500E, Custom Bortnite (sic) Purple/Black, 101kkm, $90k (Miami, FL) - Highly modified Japan import

===================================

I was looking at a S124 at RMC Miami (over priced) and saw this 500E they had listed for 90k. For the most part I like it, but not for 90k

AUTO FASHION FACTORY SPIRIT

Located in the heart of Tokyo, Auto Fashion Factory is a premier automotive tuning shop known for their ability to achieve a proper balance between function and form. Specializing in 90’s Mercedes’, AFF has continued to establish themselves as the premier bespoke MB builder.
The Mercedes 500E is a timeless classic that blends the sophistication of a luxury sedan with the raw power of a sports car thanks to Porsche, making this the perfect vintage sedan.
This Autofashion Bortnite Metallic 500E is an exceptional example that is bound to leave a lasting impression.
The exterior is finished in a shimmering purple hue that catches the light from every angle enhancing the wide fenders, complemented by 19″ AFF4 Forged wheels that are free of rash.
The body is free from any major dents or scratches.
The interior is stunning, to say the least.
The quality is nothing short of a show car, exuding the new car scent up until this very day.
The custom hand-stitched Buffalo hide upholstery carries elegance throughout the entire car. Red deviated stitching which is better than most designer handbags. Looks as if it was laid from the factory.
Elegance meets a sporty look thanks to the bespoke Recaro seats with no signs of wear or tear.
The Tiger Birds Eye wood trim is in beautiful condition and adds a touch of refinement to the cabin of which Mercedes-Benz is known for.
The leather dashboard is in excellent condition, thoughtfully designed with all controls in perfect reach of the driver.
The car comes equipped with a factory style upgraded sound system, dual-zone climate control functions as it should and cold.
The power sunroof is in working order
Under the hood, the 5.0-liter M119 V8 engine which delivers impressive performance.
With some assistance thanks to the Kera carbon air box and header-back AFF exhaust.
The 1992 off the record is known to be the fastest of the W124 bunch due to emission restrictions in later years.
The exhaust note is intoxicating to say the least and with the tight Ohlins suspension, the car always feels like it can handle the task at hand whether you’re running late to a business meeting or the drivers meeting at your local track.

Overall, I really like it too... but not for $90k.

Interesting that it has AMG side skirts and rear apron, but not front bumper. And, there are AMG decals all over the interior & engine compartment, including multiple E60 / 6.0L engine decals claiming 381ps, but the seller states it's a 5.0L engine. What gives? Who stickers up a stock 5L motor?

Someone in Japan has been making repo AMG engine decals for a while now. They are showing up on many JDM Mercedes that are obviously not AMG cars. Can't just trust the presence of decals to determine engine displacement

Totally agree, quite like it , especially the interior, but not at $90k

You have to be shitting me…must have been those AMG references on a non AMG car. To me, unless there is an AMG drivetrain, it’s just AMG smoke and mirrors. The AMG rocker panels and rear bumper mean nothing, especially the rocker panels. The OEM rocker panels match up with the flared fenders and give the 036 its distinctive look all around.

The wheels from Aodhan are crap, would never put them on any car and they are not forged wheels - “Cast center made from the raw materials. The wheel is then spun at a high rate of speed”. Forged my ass.

That car is one step away from being in the next fast and furious film.

Still $85k OBO for 2025. Still the same terrible photographs. Still missing all the rubber seals at the leading edge of the facelifted hood.

Bortnite special? There's only 1 "t'" in Bornite...
