Hello group , 220 k miles , the battery will lose the charge after 2 weeks so I kept it on a trickle charge , so finally I decide to get on it , but that time check engine light never come on , I start to un plug every relay , stereo , I remove the amps years ago , I remove the module under the rear left passenger seat and draw went away so pick a used one and every thing looks great un 100 miles later the check engine light came on , push the knob on the diagnostic plug and got 17 pulse , can not find info for it so I remove all the modules in the box , clean them up , put them back and the same so I order the module with the 4 fuses , plug it , same by 100 miles light is back on

What is the 17 pulses mean ? idles great , power is there

Thank you in advance

CEL / diagnostic module code #17 is "Data exchange malfunction between individual control modules". See the PDF file at the link below.

You'll need to check for codes on all the other modules, if this particular code keeps recurring. More information at the link below.

The module under the rear seat has nothing to do with engine management, the issues are not related.

Hello , found a Baum scanner CS2000 , so I need to figure out how to use it , keep you up date ,, thanks
The CS2000 scanner is useful to display fault codes from most modules, and will also show some live data from modules (except EZL and ASR). The menu may show systems that do not exist on your car, which is confusing. Overall the CS2000 has limited functionality compared to a full Star Diagnostics C4 or M6 as discussed elsewhere on the forum, but it's much better than a hand-held blinker box.
