FOR SALE 1992 'Euro' LH module w/ WOT enrichment, with new capacitors

I have had a couple extra 1992 LH module for sale... MB part number 012-545-62-32, which was used in early Euro 500E's (1991/1992), and also used in some early-production USA-spec 1992 cars as well. The Bosch number is 0-280-002-512.

UPDATE 2020: I also have module p/n 014-545-18-32 available (Bosch 0-280-002-534), which is functionally equivalent with WOT enrichment, and a slightly newer software version.

UPDATE JANUARY 2025: Availability is very limited for either part number mentioned above, please PM/DM me (Send Direct Message) and I'll let you know if I have anything available or not.

I always make sure the modules I sell are in top condition:
  • New Nichicon UBT automotive-rated capacitors installed <-- NEW FOR 2025!
  • All old DTC's (error codes) cleared
  • Adaptation reset to mean value via digital scanner
  • Tested in my personal car to verify that it works perfectly
  • 100% ready to install in your car
  • Guaranteed not DOA

See attached dyno graph for real-world power gains, dyno testing was done same day / same car / same dyno. I've been using this same "Euro" module in my car for years now with zero problems. I also use the modified chip in my cars for the side benefits noted at the link below.

Current pricing as of November 2025 (price increase due to new capacitors installed):
$550
- Stock module, stock chip
$595 - With modified chip pre-installed (click here for details) - Stock chip also included

Free shipping in the USA (all 50 states including HI and AK). Contact me (PM/DM) for international shipping costs; most countries in Europe should be roughly $100 USD for Express (5-10 days, if there are no customs delays). PayPal via Friends & Family please, as of 2022. Zelle & Venmo are also OK.

I also offer a 1-year (exchange) warranty for these used modules, as they very, very rarely fail.

:apl:

Best regards,

Are there other cars besides the E500E that have LH modules with WOT pre 1993? And also is the difference noticeable when driving?

The WOT gain is about 9hp at the wheels, 12hp at the crank, and is ONLY present at WOT. In normal driving there is zero difference. At WOT, you need a pretty fine tuned ButtDyno™ to sense a difference. It is clearly measurable at the dyno and dragstrip, and at the Mojave Mile, I believe Jano picked up 3mph with the module (142mph with non-WOT module, 145mph with WOT module).

Dave, I guess this has been discussed here on the forum already, but is it any point to put an early WOT LH module in the later Euro cars?
The face lifted Euro models has reduced power from 326ps to 320ps and 480Nm to 470Nm.

Thanks :)

Hi Arnt,

Yes - if a later Euro car has the original/late 93-95 module, the same power gains apply, as shown on the dyno graphs.

:v8:

The omission of WOT was done worldwide, on the 124.036 commencing on or about chassis number B840526. I believe this corresponded to ECE production as of approximately 9/1992, and was absolutely done for all USA version cars for model year 1993. The same WOT deletion modification was made worldwide to all LH equipped V8 and V12 MB cars at about the same time. On the V8s, it was done with a host of other modifications including increased compression [on 4.2L M119 only], lower friction belt drive components, and a fair amount more. The changes had nothing to do with the measured emissions at the time. The changes were made completely to increase fuel economy on the European test cycles.

Concerning the 4.2 liter engines: With these changes, interestingly enough, the advertised HP in the USA went UP from 268 to 275 on the 124.034, and down on the 140.042/43, from 282 to 275...

[GSXR edit: I believe the 4.2L engine rating of 268hp was either an error, or purposely under-rated. There is conflicting data in factory literature and it may be that 282hp is more accurate. However, I've never been able to dyno a 1992 4.2L engine for comparison.]

Hi, can someone help me? I couldn’t find this information on the forum. What exactly is the function of the WOT Enrichment, and can I put an EEPROM from a WOT ECU into one without it? Can someone check if mine has WOT or not (picture with numbers attached)?

I found an ECU with the number 0280002534 - 0145451832 for €170. Should I buy it? I think it has WOT. Will it work if I put it in my car?

Thanks

WOT enrichment is "open loop" mode where the mixture goes richer than the narrowband O2 sensor can measure. On a dyno with wideband sensor, the AFR goes to roughly 12.5 at full throttle with WOT enrichment. Without this function, AFR remains at ±14.7 which is too lean for max power.

Your original module # 0145451732 does indeed have WOT enrichment. This is the part number used on late production 1992 (USA model year) 500E's and ROW cars produced through about summer 1991.

0145451832 was only used in the 140 chassis from the factory, however Mercedes superceded #17 --> #18 when the #17 went NLA/OOS, indicating they are functionally equivalent. I don't know the difference between them. The #17 module is very rare. If you can buy a #18 for €170 that's a great deal! I'd pick it up as a spare.

Hello gsxr, as a newer member I’m unable to PM you but I’m interested in the LH module, I have a ‘93 500e and would like to discuss. Could you please reach out to me? Thanks in advance.

Hey gsxr,
I don't have the ability to PM yet. Do you still have any LH modules available? I'm in search of a 012-545-62-32.
Hello! Yes, I do have a 012-545-62-32 module in stock. However I have not had time to replace the capacitors yet. Probably will be 1-2 weeks before I can do that, and test it in my car.

:lightning:

@mdmotors, my apologies for the delay... I finally replaced the capacitors in the LH module, and test drove my car with that module today. It's all set to go.
No worries at all, I’m just happy you had a module available for me :banana1: It looks like I still done have the ability to PM. I can Zelle you the payment asap if you send me your info?

Sounds good, @mdmotors! You can contact me at: [email deleted]

I'll send photos of the module before you pay, so you can see what you'll receive. Oh, I also need to know if you want the stock chip, or the modified chip.

Thanks!
