Hi all,

Here's the info in case anyone's interested in my 92 MB 500E - aka G Man's prior 500E :-)
Unfortunately we're up to 7 cars (recently got 2013 GL450 for snow) and need to make room(also selling R500 S600), especially since our new add-on/garage won't be completed for another 10-12 months. Although I've driven it 900 miles over the past 4 months, and have gotten LOTS of compliments and enjoyment, it still doesn't really get driven enough, imho.

Therefore, I'm open to reasonable offers - not looking to make $ here...so do your research and call me w/ interest/questions 925-683-3218.

Here's the video that my friend Sean took when he helped me check out Gary's car in Dallas.

Also, here are the pix from Gary.

Thus far, I've got close to $18k into the car, and so open to hearing offers from anyone who REALLY wants it :)
The AC is recharged and working great, brand new front tires as prior tires had flat spots, and recently new caps/rotors completely done.
Also, mechanic is checking out the driver vacuum door luck.

In case some are not familiar, here's the specs on the G Man (prior) car:

Gary purchased in 2005 with @57,689 miles from former E500E board member Michael Chang in Portland Oregon. Gerry actually inspected the car for me while he was living in Oregon.

Original paint except for the roof, which I had re-sprayed in March of this year. The clear coat was getting cloudy. Many major repairs and preventative maintenance done during my ownership. I have a pretty extensive file of all repairs and receipts. Factory steering wheel included along with an original Bergwerks FGS module (new & uninstalled). Here's a partial list of some of the major items.

If someone's looking for a nice, enthusiast-owned, known-quantity car, here's another crack at "one of the good ones."

People are always bitching that there are no good cars out there at reasonable prices. Given what Gary did with the car, and what Patrick has put into it this year - this is an excellent buy for someone who wants a nice example of the breed.

Cheers,
Gerry

Patrick, if I hadn't just purchased my 500E locally here in Atlanta 2 weeks ago, I would have been all over yours without any hesitation! With all the endorsements from board members I'm sure yours will go quickly!

Good luck!
Pete

This is one of the better priced, verifiable 500Es out there. It almost virtually needs no PP.Jump in and drive it home LOL.GLWS

Wire is on the way, this one is coming back to North Texas! Can't believe I missed it the first time but really enjoyed talking with Patrick. Great guy & fellow Porsche nut. Now I just need to decide if I need two of these (both bought off of the forum, thanks Gerry!) Can't wait 'til she gets here!

Wow, that's cool that it's coming back here to the Republic !! I hope to see the car again in the future. Congrats !! Glad it sold quick this time 'round.

She's back in Tejas! Here's a couple pics with my old gray ghost daily(208k & going strong). The Gary/Patrick car doesn't disappoint. A gorgeous example who is now resting comfortably in her new garage with her other German brothers & sisters. Thanks again Patrick!

Just West of you in Argyle. I actually have a good friend of mine I used to Club Race with who lives in your neck of the woods.

well, looks like i missed out on this again. i just PM'd about it, somehow missing this thread and finding out it's back in TX. i'm in plano, TX and G Man and i exchanged a few emails, but i never got over to see it the first time. i thought maybe i could be the guy who brought it back to TX. meanwhile, it's already HERE!! how bizarre.

congrats to JW. guess i'll keep looking...

i wish i would have known the car was as well known on this board as it was/is, at the time. i was shopping 2 different cars back then and added something else. i think i missed out on a very nice (and extremely close) one.

You snooze, you lose. I can't feel too sorry because G-Man's car was on the market for quite some time before Patrick bought it. As was Orazios car.

If you are serious about a car (and both of these cars were well known/vetted here) you can't dither.

Always seems like someone says "darn I missed that great car" and they had every chance to actually get it.

Always best to be definitive and decisive, not to dither.

if you take a look at my sig, you'll see i play mainly in porsches of late and that market is insane right now. my other area of interest is (relatively) limited production cars, so i know all too well the concept of committing when you know the deal is right. i spend most of my time on pelican and rennlist, but a 500 has always been on the short of cars to add - just haven't gotten to that one yet. i was shopping G50 Carreras at that time and wound up with my '87 Carrera instead of G-Man's 500. the other issue is, i'm really hoping for an 040 car and that will require patience, but a good car in an acceptable color will not be overlooked.

Just be ready to jump when that 040 car comes up ... And it will.
