FOR SALE 1993 500E AMG 6.0 liter, Pearl Black/Black, 87kkm, €0.21M (Essen Germany)

How ironic it's inaccurately labeled as a "Hammer" when it might be parked next to a legit Hammer? :scratchchin:

And yes, 148 should refer to either the number of E60 AMG (facelift), or possibly all 036 with 957 in the datacard (including pre-facelift). I forget if we've identified these separate numbers (@WDB748372 ?).

I had only looked at 124.036 + 957 which was a total of 149 ( extra one being the zeroth in the list which was later added code 957).

I just looped through all of those 149 and the first 6 (WDB1240361B734480...WDB1240361B972077) do not have code 859 which should be a 500E 6.0 pre-facelift model.

Code 859 goes away later (after WDB1240361C119521) but remaining 143 would be E60 AMG facelift models.

Sorry to go off course, @036 , I’m based in the UK and still due a trip over there to Essen, specifically to see that show.

I think I’ll plan something next year, it’s quite good & lots of nice 036s there, from what I’ve heard..

Can I see the full show in one day? Do you think..??

A little off - topic but went scrolling facebook where 500E got stolen Gruga-Halle in Essen. Owner was Barbara.

Is theft really become common now for these old Mercedes?msedge_PvkG3rfMTC.png

Yes, it appears to be an increasing risk at least here in Europe. I highly recommend owners to be fully insured and thoroughly document their car's with photos along with receipts of the maintenance, and especially for expensive options installed. This is cruisal to regain real value from the rude insurance companies. Additionally a hidden tracking system installed would be a good idea - I don't have it myself yet, but I neither use the car.

I go every year from the UK, had a very quick visit this year due to other commitments, but did the show in a day and a half. Some very interesting cars, and usually some good 036 to see

This was the final year for the classic car show in Essen under the Techno Classica brand and organisation.

Next year, the show will be held under the Retro Classics banner.
I really hope the new organisers will:
– bring some fresh energy and brightness to the ageing halls of the Essen exhibition centre
– shift the focus slightly away from the blue-chip million-euro investments from the '30s–'50s towards well-preserved youngtimers
