1993 car with facelift hood and what appear to be correct headlights. Pity the front bumper grille is broken, and stationary heater is disconnected. Ball joint boots on the late LCA's are badly ripped, hope the BJ's are still tight... otherwise it will need NLA LCA's.

This was a bit easier to find. Only 6 Pearl Black with Leather Black interior along with stationary heater, heated seats but no fire extinguisher. To support, that VIN is registered in Florida with around the same mileage (89,999) and in the US since/at least 2002 also as hinted by in the listing.

Read the first post again. It's a 500E that someone facelifted. It did not leave the factory as an E500 (facelift). The seller is listing the year and model number based on the current appearance, not how it left the factory.

Note that "model years" only exist in North America and Japan. This is a German-market car, where model years do not exist. Production date is February 1993, several months before facelift (E500) production began.

Has anyone tried to call for the price?

Nobody has posted here yet, if you find out the asking price, please share and I'll update the thread.

EDIT... I actually have to revoke that due to the facelift... it won't get the originality premium that the looks would lead one to think about... call it $55k but the ask is likely the $75k

Look through the classified section of this forum to see what other E500E's you can get for the same, or less, $$$.

For this particular car? IMO, $70k is top, top, top dollar... especially for a modified car (facelifted hood, etc). Read all the previous posts (above) about this car. The broken front bumper is NLA and would have to be repaired, not replaced. Pray the ball joints aren't damaged from the ripped boots, the joints are not replaceable, and the control arms are NLA. For $70k, this car should have none of those issues... or any other issues.

I also found out entire car was respirated. Sound like owner has it on consignment and is an older gentleman but swear was never in an accident.

Do you mean resprayed? As it complete paint job? That makes one wonder why the hood was replaced...

I'd have a really close look at the underbody. This being a German market car, it will have been exposed to heavy road salting that is comparable to the Northeastern parts of the U.S. (unless of course the German owner didn't drive it in Winter).

The underside looks to me as if there has been a good deal of scrubbing and strategic rattle canning, as some items (bolts, metal hoses) show quite a bit of corrosion while the surrounding sheet metal all looks glossy black or silver. Of course this could be totally wrong, as the pictures might not reflect the actual condition of the car very well.

All I'm saying is that it would be smart to pick a PPI place that knows the E500E really well and to ask them to spend a good amount of time on surveying the underbody.

Also a shame that they did one of these half-assed facelifts and left the non-facelift trunk on the car.

Don't waste your time. The number is in the $50k's and they likely won't sell for that + there are probably better cars with higher mileage available at that number.

This presentation screams "come chase me."
