Hi Everyone. A good friend wants to fly to Japan to check this car out which is listed as an E60 AMG. When I run the vin on a decoder like LastVin, I don't see 957 package listed anywhere. I don't see the vin listed in our existing list of verified E60 examples that our community knows. Would love to hear your thoughts based on the ad.

Beautiful car.
Your friend needs to ask for documentation from AMG Japan on the conversion to 6.0 liter and to verify the engine number and stamps.
You can go deeper and check the engine cam shafts for AMG stamps.
Also check the LH computer module IMO.
FYI, the rims are Chinese OZ racing lookalike, not original.

It's not an E60. It's a 500E which was converted to 6.0L, along with a facelift, Gen2 AMG bodykit, and a bunch of other modifications common in Japan (like the R129-style wood console). Neat color combination.

Holy Moly, that thing looks all kinds of wrong to me. Wonky steering wheel airbag, shoddy seat refurbishment in some sort of multi-gray color combo, misaligned headlight panels and an AMG body kit that was never made for a 036. But whatever. Different strokes for different folks

The airbag has stitched leather panels added. I've seen this treatment by RENNtech but don't recall it from AMG. I don't understand the attraction. Maybe it looks ok when new, but after a decade or two as the leather shrinks, it just looks awful. On the bright side, it's easy to remedy.

Not authentic E60 but a cool looking resto-mod 500E.
