Offered for sale on consignment is a very rare and desirable example of a 1993 Mercedes-Benz 500E was hand built together with Porsche. This 113k mile example is finished in beautiful metallic Green and Tan leather. It is being offered at a very low price. The exterior of this Mercedes is in excellent condition from front to rear with minimal road wear. It has a perfect Carfax report. The windshied does have a crack in it which I have taken a picture of. The AMG sport alloy wheels are clean and nice, with brand new Michelin tires. The interior is also in excellent shape, with expanses of rich leather and a wide assortment of luxury and safety features such as power windows, power heated leather seats, power locks, with CD player, Sat. radio, power mirrors, power sunroof, power rear sunshade much more. Have to agree with you...interior looks great and the price is very reasonable given the miles. Hard to judge the exact condition of the paint though.

Good catch. Actually, it looks like the impact strip is fine, however it's the skirt hanging below the impact strip that is not properly bracketed/clipped to hold it into place.

That's a nice looking car from the photos. Even the driver's seat outside bolster looks good. That's unusual for that light scroom color. Paint looks good to. It is well worth looking at and getting a PPI done.

You never know until you really see it up close and drive it. Pics can be deceiving. With a good PPI from a trusted source, IMOP I'd say it's worth the asking price.

Before I bought my car I almost pulled the trigger on one just like it. It even had original 17" AMG flat Monoblocks but back then the 17" tires gave it a rough ride. This had to be about 13 years ago. Seeing this one makes my feel a little sorry I didn't buy it. Just a little sorry, I'll get over it.

Need photos of the engine compartment. Old AutoCheck attached, the car spent its first 12 years in the northeast... would be nice to see pics of the underside. Looks above average inside, if the photos are accurate.

I did a resonator delete last year, and had it lowered on H&R sports springs. Only flaws are cosmetic and on the exterior, interior is immaculate with very little wrinkling on the driver's seat. Some paint chips on the hood but this is expected of this era.

1993 Mercedes-Benz 500E

This 1993 Mercedes-Benz 500E is powered by a 5.0-liter M119 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Spruce Green Metallic over beige leather upholstery. Equipment includes 17” AMG Monoblock wheels, a power sunroof, fog lights, Automatic Slip Control, automatic climate control, an Alpine stereo, heated power-adjustable front seats, and cruise control. It was acquired by the seller in 2022 following registration history in several states and now shows 130k miles. This W124 500E is offered in Texas at no reserve with a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a Washington title in the seller’s name.

The 500E was assembled by Porsche and featured wheel arch flares, revised bodywork, and a lower ride height when compared to other W124 models. This example is finished in Spruce Green Metallic (249) and features lighter lower cladding. Additional exterior features include headlights with washers and wipers, integrated fog lights, a retractable antenna, and a power sunroof. Corrosion above the rear window is noted by the seller, and close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.

The 17” AMG Monoblock wheels are mounted with Vredestein [snow] tires. The car is equipped with Automatic Slip Control (ASR), and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs.

The cabin features heated power-adjustable front seats upholstered in beige leather along with a color-coordinated lower dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include automatic climate control, an Alpine stereo, and cruise control.

The six-digit odometer shows 130k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. The 5.0-liter M119 DOHC V8 was factory-rated at 322 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. The engine wiring harness is said to have been replaced in 2019. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The exhaust [unspecified piece at the manifold, per seller comment] was replaced in September 2023. The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage. The Washington title carries an “Antique” brand.

More photos. Needs strut mounts ASAP (and probably more). Bummer the tow hook cover wasn't replaced prior to sale. New front seat leathers weren't de-wrinkled after installation. The original leather didn't look bad in 2016, wonder why it was replaced. Nor'east past history visible if you look closely at undercarriage pics, snow tires aren't a good look. Do NOT like the wet-look spray over the entire underside! Factory cats are a plus, but the resonator (NLA) has holes in the pipes. Fuel pumps are not recent. Looks pretty nice up top.

Listing says "exhaust replaced in 2023" but nothing in the photos is new or even recent, not even the rear muffler. Could be a BaHaT error (copied from a previous 036 listing). UPDATE: Seller responded to a peanut gallerist about the exhaust. Based on the photos, I believe the main catalyst pipe was replaced... although not brand new, this one component looks much better than the rest of the exhaust system. Note the heat shield is completely gone (rotted away) from the crossover pipe, yet the catalyst pipe has the heat shield completely intact. And, the cat pipe exit clamps have new bolts, oriented incorrectly, lol.

Road test video is a bit hairy in traffic. For the launch, either the pedal wasn't on the floor, or the transmission kickdown solenoid isn't working, since it didn't pull to redline in 1st gear. Seems to be running pretty well. MP4 videos are too large (10MB and 20MB) to upload to the forum.

That lower panel color does not look like the factory color in this batch of photos. It looks more like grey or silver. Could just be the light but I find it a very good look with the green.

Yeah @gsxr I noticed that early upshift in the launch video too, reminiscent of when you were helping me dial in (or diagnose) my transmission either just before or just after the rebuild. 5600 RPM ain't it. Steering seemed a bit loose in that video as well, but these are details. Might be $10k worth of details but details nonetheless.. What's a few grand in 500E land. Whoever buys the car will need to dial it in, and the mechanicals will always be the easiest part. It gets tougher from there with NLA parts, qualified and knowledgeable service providers, brittle 30 year old parts, etc.

Accordingly, the flip-mobile in sheep's green clothing will not grace my personal gaze, save for this forum.

On the subject of green, I have seen many new models of various makes with dark green on the streets. I cannot remember the make of them, but seems battleship or bluish grey has been replaced by green on new ones for this model year.

I think Battle Ship Grey is a terrible color on a car or anything. If I wanted to see that color I would have joined the NAVY.

The other option would be for everyone to dress in grey Mao Zedong suites.
