Before you give up on this forum you should know that the 500Eboard.com is dedicated to all 124036s and 034s and the very rare E60 worldwide. If you really want to sell it this is probably your best shot.

Your next best bet is some auction but you’re taking a chance at an auction. They can turnout great or be a bust. OR you might find a private collector with deep pockets BUT anybody looking for an E60 I think, would be checking with this forum.

It was a post-delivery conversion, documented on the other thread when it was listed for sale in 2019.

@MK500 - I would assume the current price is higher than the ask five years ago.

But yes, the lack of code 957 in the datacard will hurt value a bit, unless additional documentation from AMG is available with specifics on the date/km's/cost for the conversion.

It's a vehicle registration book. Here in Croatia, you can put a diesel engine in a Ferrari, go to the state metrology institute and get a certificate... that way the data about the vehicle will change. But that does not mean that Ferrari installed that engine.
I think the only documentation that proves the car is a genuine AMG is the documentation issued by AMG at the time of the conversion. You can also send an inquiry to AMG or have an AMG technician inspect the vehicle...it was said that Pattina collective offers this service.

BTW, I just realized the current AMG 2-pc wheels on the car appear to be 18"... which means the gargantuan MovIt brake system has been removed. Those brakes won't fit under 18" wheels.

Produced from 1990 to 1995, the Mercedes-Benz 'W124' series formed the ideal basis for the high-performance V-8 500 E, developed and built in close cooperation with Porsche. Sought-after and nearly mythical for its all-around performance, the 500 E was predictably massaged by the legendary Mercedes racing/tuning wizards at AMG into the even more formidable E60 AMG, featuring a potent 6.0L V-8 engine. Other upgrades covered the suspension and exhaust system, plus specific tweaks including the interior, wheels and identification badges. As few as 45 factory original E60 cars were produced (Code 957 and Code 957/958), plus a number (150 estimated) of original 500 E models subsequently upgraded to E60 AMG specification.

This compelling 1993 Mercedes-Benz E60 AMG was delivered as an original Mercedes/Porsche-built 500 E on 12/23/1993 to the Mercedes-Benz Stuttgart Branch and converted 24 days later on 1/13/1994 in Affaterbach, home to AMG, as evidenced by the documents accompanying the vehicle. The second owner, resident in Germany, commissioned a comprehensive restoration, with the detailed work completed over a three-year timeframe by the Mercedes-Benz W124 specialists at CPT in Baden-Baden. Only Mercedes-Benz parts were used in the restoration. The vehicle remained within a private German collection until it was sold to the third owner during 2023. Included with the offering of this rare Mercedes-Benz/AMG performer are over 5,000 restoration photos and complete bound restoration documents accounting for all parts and processes. Only 125,000 Kilometers (77,000 miles) were said to be on the vehicle's chassis prior to the full restoration. Following a return to stock cosmetics, brakes, and wheels, the E60 AMG was imported to the United States in 2024.

The new photos are helpful. The exhaust is NOT original and NOT stock. The front crossover pipe has heat shield completely rusted away. Aftermarket catalysts are installed along with aftermarket resonator and muffler.

The AMG Gen2 front bumper, never meant to fit on the widebody 036, looks like it needed to be "stretched" further... to my eyes, it doesn't look quite right where it meets the front fender flares. The rear bumper is also AMG Gen 2... but the side skirts are stock 036. Why install 2/3 of a body kit?

The seats have an "AMG" logo added similar to the mid-2000's AMG models. Not period correct. Again... why? Orthopedic seat controls are present, but no Sportline/E500E seats had ortho available. It's highly unlikely the controls do anything, but if ortho bladders were retrofitted - along with the special modifications needed to the backrest leather to separate the center from the side bolsters - it would be pretty sweet if this was functional.

Door sill trims are Black, they should be Blue. All interior wood was changed to bird's eye maple (original was Burled Walnut). Non-original, non-correct steering wheel installed. Lots of Alcantara™ or similar faux-suede has been used on the interior (headliner, rear deck, C-pillars). Photos are too dark to tell if the headliner is Black or Blue (stock was Gray). Only two undercarriage photos which are NOT enough to tell what was replaced during the "restoration". Interesting that the claimed number of photos has dropped from "over 8500" down to "over 5000". Wonder what happened to the other 3500?

On the plus side, it has correct 036 RHT headlights (hooray!) and the hood rubber trims & foam are intact / replaced. The shutters for the rear seat side pockets (from a 140?) are a nice bit of kit as mentioned earlier in this thread. ASR Off switch is a bonus.

BTW: I hate when an odometer is reset to zero after a restoration. How stupid.

Yea there's no code for it with my car and I can see that the installation while being very nicely done, is not factory. It works really well in my 036 seats though. Since my seats are 100% original Recaros it must be someone really wanted orthos at some time or another and had it custom fitted.
