The chrome fender trims were a popular accessory in the 80's but I haven't seen those in a long time.

Holy turdmobile, Batman! They want $10k for this? It looks like a $3k Bookface special that didn't even get a detail job before flipping for 3x. The AI-generated, 100%-fluff, 0%-content description was a nice touch.

Ripped driver seat leather, custom Black+Blue ZooomTubez, spark plug wires draped everywhere, missing distributor covers, tree debris lining the front fenders (BarnFind street cred?), instrument cluster not seated, shifter trim & console wood popped up, trunk carpet not original / out of place, more Barn Find debris in the tunk area, rusty suspension components, rear subframe bushings collapsed, CATALYST DELETED with straight pipe, solid brown rear wheel carrier / brake components, mirror booties fossilized, paint failing (look at the hood start close-up photo), center roll-top box wood broken. And that's just what's visible in the blurry photos.

Oh, and it's a stripper.

I went and checked this out before I read the thread here and in addition to all the issues listed above, when I test drove it, we smelled a burning smell like burning rubber or something. At the end of the drive I popped the hood to investigate and saw smoke rising from the aircon inlets at the base of the windshield. Needless to say I walked right there. Rust situation underneath was better than the last couple I looked at.

I’m also new to the forum and interested in getting a w124 (ideally a e420/400e). All the info has been very useful!

Uh-oh. Once the smoke escapes, it's hard to put back in. Might be related to the blower motor or regulator, which are located under the wiper motor.

Check out the 400E420-specific classified section here, as forum members find any for sale, that's where listings will get posted. It's not nearly as complete as the E500E classifieds though.

Welcome to the forum!
