1994 E420 Springs Front

Hi There,
Looking for a pair of OEM Front springs for my 1994 E420 (the left one rusted out).

Long story short: I bought some from Bilstein straight from Germany, however they were not the right and made the car sit high. Instead of sending them back, as I was impatient, my mechanic cut them. Then is sat to low (rubbing on the tires).
Then bought some from a local spring supply shop, they assured me it would fit. Installed it and the springs collapsed (they are for the w124 v6). They did not accept the return.
Finally frustrated went to the junkyard and got springs from a Durango and built a plate so I could ride before the snowfall (this was Fall 2020). It looks ugly and needs to go this season.
Spent over $1400 between mechanic, coils and shipping, so utterly frustrated. MB originals were not in stock and then came in at $450 CAD each...

YIKES. So... the .034 front springs are unique to the .034 chassis, p/n 124-321-39-04. These are $167 USD MSRP, discount USA dealers have them for ~$125 each, but shipping is spendy, especially to Canada. Might find a used pair for less.

Remember that in stock form, the .034 sits rather high, roughly 14.5" from wheel center to fender lip.

Thank you @gsxr, sad thing is that some USA dealers won't even ship to Canada. Worst case may drive down to Idaho or Montana to pick them up - once the border opens up!

If you could pick up something in USA that would be great. From a quick look, it appears shipping would be $100-$125 from USA to Canada for a ±25lb package.

The photo above shows non-Mercedes springs... not sure what those fit, but it's definitely not meant for 124 chassis. Maybe those are the Durango springs?

Yes, the wire looks thinner as well as the wrong end coil. That may be the reason for the low ride height.

They are the Bilstein 36-226153 B3 Deries Front Coil Spring. They have been cut. @gsxr the Durango's are on the E420 waiting for the a new set!

Exactly Dave!! When I contacted the reseller the assured me they fit. They guaranteed it! Thing is I cut them so no way I could return it. Water under the bridge now, time to get the correct set!

I will likely wait until the boarder is opened up, and drive down to my post box in Sweet Grass in the lovely state of Montana, lets chat then Jeff!
