Today marks the 5th year these Carlsson 2/6's have been on Stark 1.

Re: FS: 1994 E500, Pearl Black/Black, 162k, $18k (Somerset, NJ)

Dropping the price to $17,000

I have been driving this car once a week back and forth to work. With the new transmission the car drives like a dream. It's never been this good! Soon it will be buttoned up and put in the garage for winter.

I will entertain reasonable offers. If you have a Polaris RZR, truck and/or trailer let me know as I may be open to trades.

Re: FS: 1994 E500, Pearl Black/Black, 162k, $18k (Somerset, NJ)

Hi I just joined this forum today. Thats a really nice car, GLWS! I unfortunately wont be in the market for one until 2018...maybe. ;)

Re: FS: 1994 E500, Pearl Black/Black, 162k, $18k (Somerset, NJ)

My goodness, what can I say! This post made my day to know one still exists in such great condition and reasonable price too. Entertaining that thought!

Re: FS: 1994 E500, Pearl Black/Black, 162k, $18k (Somerset, NJ)

I am surprised by the lack of comments from The Collective about this car. It would appear to be in nice condition with plenty of maintenance records supporting work that has been done by the current and previous owners. At the risk of sounding naive, is the evidence of rust a major deal breaker? Thanks!

Re: FS: 1994 E500, Pearl Black/Black, 162k, $18k (Somerset, NJ)

I sent a PM to the seller a week ago since he's local to see the car and I've yet to receive a response. Maybe the seller isn't really interested in selling...

He may just not visit the forum as often I believe there is a number on his website ? If not maybe someone else can get you his contact info or try to google it.

Re: FS: 1994 E500, Pearl Black/Black, 162k, $18k (Somerset, NJ)

For the life of me I cannot seem to get notifications to my email inbox from this site. It is incredibly frustrating as I have tried many times.
I don't recall that this has been an issue with other people. My guess is that your ISP has targeted my ISP as a spammer. Have you tried another type of e-mail address, such as a gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc.?

Re: FS: 1994 E500, Pearl Black/Black, 162k, $18k (Somerset, NJ)

Hey Gerry!

Thanks for chiming in. I didn't expect you reach out on this thread. Let me know if you want to take this to another forum (no pun intended =).

I have a gmail account. Oddly your message just now on this thread gave me an email notification. The two above that did not. Private messages do not either. For what it's worth, this is what my General Settings tab looks like in Google Chrome.

Re: FS: 1994 E500, Pearl Black/Black, 162k, $18k (Somerset, NJ)

Took the time to scan & OCR every receipt by all four owners. Available with and addition to the physical paper copies. The digital library is more extensive as I went digital with my receipts pretty early on in ownership.

Re: FS: 1994 E500, Pearl Black/Black, 162k, $18k (Somerset, NJ)

congrats!Local buyer?

Vlad,

I did have an opportunity to drive Frank's car over the weekend. :agree: However, it was not I that purchased this solid vehicle. It is a great example of a 500E mechanically. Definitely a great driver. It actually felt faster than a 68K mile 500E I drove last Feb in Edgewater, NJ.

My holding back was a result of personal preference regarding the color. As you know, I don't like Black cars. Too difficult to keep clean. I was hoping to make an exception for this one. At the end of the day, I want a silver/ black car. I did miss a nice example that recently sold in AZ. The one in Florida seemed a bit pricey, but good history.

The other issue is the rust. That is clearly represented in his ad as well as his dropbox photos. As long as you understand it's there, it should not be a surprise to you.
Rust is not an issue I want to deal with. For the bulk of the rust, you can replace the parts with new and be done with it. But when there's apparent rust, you don't know what you may find when you dig deeper.

Frank does seem to be a straight forward honest guy. The service history is meticulous with this car. I wouldn't doubt anything he states about what has been done. He does have some nice parts that will convey with it as well. Would definitely feel comfortable dealing with him had the sale moved forward. I'm sure the buyer will find that he's purchased a solid mechanical example when he gets it. :nobmw:

Re: FS: 1994 E500, Pearl Black/Black, 162k, $18k (Somerset, NJ)

Many of you have reached out about the airbox. I am selling this car whole, but thank you for your interest!

Re: FS: 1994 E500, Pearl Black/Black, 162k, $18k (Somerset, NJ)

Spring is fully upon us!

Dropping the price to $16,500.

If you think you're the next to enjoy this vehicle make me an offer.

ADMIN EDIT: For sale by new owner August-2019, see post #11 below. Thread title updated.

VIN = WDBEA36E4RC077035

I bought this car from a member back in 2017, the original thread will be added later. I have only done a few miles but have spent a lot on it since I acquired it. it has been looked after by Autotechnic in New Milford CT (jeff0093)
I just do not use it. It is a great car and looks great , see photo link.
I had the rust taken care of and car painted.
I replaced the exhaust with a Leistung performance exhaust
I put New Tires on it
I put a new Afalterbach steering wheel and wooden gear knob on.

I am looking for $18,000

Welcome Aboard Dutch,

Your handle is a little misleading NY? Since your my in my neighborhood. The car looks great in the pics. Leistung Autohaus is a few miles from me probably. 20+ for you. Take the 22 Frwy to Harbor Blvd exit.

If you want reliable service Matt Stockwell Leistung’s Owner knows these cars inside and out.

Anyway, Good Luck w/ your ride.

A $12k Lift in 4 odd months? Sweet :wootrock: Short honeymoon for the new owner. The same "Don't drive it story" too. Ace needs to get on the case

Having said that - yes I agree it was offered too cheap before
Indeed -- this "I bought it but never drive it" excuse seems to now be 'de rigueur' for flipper-dealers. I've seen this done at least 4-5 times in recent years by flipper-dealers doing their darndest to pose as normal enthusiast-owners, but are later indeed "outed" to be flipper-dealers.

This is EXACTLY the kind of disingenuous behavior by these sellers (trying to eschew the fact that they are licensed dealers) that causes folks here to do detective work to vet these sellers .... and their motivations/intentions.

And this is why Flipper Detectives like @ace10 are so vital to the proper operation of this forum, and to the broader 500E market in general.

--------------------------------------------

Is this car the same car that is in this thread? FOR SALE - 1992 500E, 156kmi, Pearl Black/Gray, $13k (Westchester, FL)

Because if it is, it was being advertised for $13K just last year. So it's not just a $12K lift.....it's a $17K lift in a matter of just 12-13 months. The "lift" appears to be a serial lift from two separate flippers owners.

It appears that this car has gone from Florida, up to Connecticut/New York area, and then to southern California? With two of the last three owners who bought it for exceedingly inexpensive prices, and mere months later haven't found the time to drive and enjoy it.

No, the car in Florida had a gray interior. And the same seller in FL had it listed between Jul-2018 and Apr-2019, which conflicts with the dates here. And, the CT-->SoCal car is a 1994; the FL car is 1992.

:jelmerian:
OK, so I was wrong. My apologies to all.

We're back to a serially flipped, $13K lift in just a few months then.

Uses this site to source parts. Posts FS everywhere else.

Can't escape the VIN, though. :coolgleam:

Like the red cabrio guy, this car will make the rounds of the Internet sale forums, I'm sure.

Next stop, BaT?

That's a good saying for a footer, @ace10: "Can't escape the VIN, though. :coolgleam:"
