FOR SALE 1994 E500, Pearl Black/Black, 169kmi, $30k (Staten Island, NY)

VIN = WDBEA36E4RC077035

Data card: VIN Decoder for Mercedes-Benz

No affiliation. No VIN listed. Multiple aftermarket additions. Repainted.

I like how in photo 5 in the ad, not only does this car have "2758 TYP" as a license plate number, but the 993 in the garage has "993 TYP." Would love to see the G-wagen's plates.

Excellent Condition, All Service Records since new, Last Full Service was May 2020, New Continental Tires, New AMG Wheels, New VDO Stereo and Speakers, New Steering Wheel, RennTech Intake Manifold, RennTech ECU, RennTech Transmission Tune, Leather recently reconditioned, H&R Springs, Euro Lights, Leistung Exhaust, Fresh Black Paint.

This is a 1994 (w124) e500 / 500e the last year made.

This car was built by Porsche at the Porsche Factory (Porsche type 2758) for Mercedes Benz to compete with the BMW M5. Only 346 made it to the US in 1994. Only made from 1992 to 1994. Very rare car.

Seller is quite obviously somebody who knows this site. This site is the first place in the world where it was made known that the E500E had a Porsche Type Number.

After the new Porsche Museum opened up and an E500 Limited was spotted on display by a member here, and a photo of the car’s museum display sign was posted.

Another cue that the seller is a member (or knows) of this site is the second photo, which shows the Porsche lot. One of the banner photos of this site, and posted in a couple of threads as well. And the cup-holder, which a bunch of forum members bought some years back on the recommendation of @texas993.

Lotta bling on that car. Gotta love the RENNtech trunk badge, the faux AMG ashtray sticker, and the Porsche reference on the plate. Which is it? Has to be the first time I've ever seen the references to three different companies on one car.

This car was taken and defaced with cheesiness.

Very over-filled coolant expansion tank..... and the reversed "E500" badge slapped onto the trunk, and in the wrong position. The very rare and expensive eBay "AMG" wheel center caps are contributing $5,000 to the asking price.

If I remember correctly, there were 374 cars that were officially imported into the US for the 1994 model year, not the 346 number as quoted by the seller.

*sigh*

Pretty sure this is frankstallone's car that he sold to dutchny same add with new black paint added.

Have no idea who is selling it now.

Good call.

VIN WDBEA36E4RC077035

Duct tape wasn't holding those tubes in place previously.

The following was my post back when I test drove it when Frankstallone owned it in 2017. There were some rust issues I did not want to deal with. It should be interesting how the shop handled it.

My reply on the car at the time:

HTH :)

That seems like a lot of panels with rust....hope the $3k paint job addressed all those properly (which would surprise me, as that seems way too cheap for a high quality job, but maybe he got lucky)

The GVZ Rust Rule is similar to that of an iceberg: On any given MB, only about 25% of the rust that is present, is easily visible. The rest of it is hidden by cladding, under the car, carpeting, spare tires, battery trays, and so forth.

I remember seeing this one about 3-4 years ago before Frank sold it and it had quite a bit of rust which was visible. Definitely would have had some pretty involved work to get it mitigated.

Car seems to be back for sale for $39,999. No affiliation.
