Correct! Catalysts and resonator are factory stock, only the rear muffler is aftermarket. All appear in good condition as well.

The more I see of this car, the less I like it. The As-New battery well makes me wonder just how much work has been done on this car. Also, I wonder if at some time the car was lowered (chopped springs, etc.) which might account for the wheel-well rubbings.

The exhaust system looks to be in great shape. I have the same Renntech rear back box but had to replace the OEMB resonator (also NLA) because of a leak.

The Renntech back box is stainless steel and will last forever albeit the packing may need replacement someday.

Probably the resonator will be the first part to wear out and will have to be replaced with something custom fabricated. I had a Chevy Camero muffler adapted to the OEMB resonator pipes (cut off the pipes tossed the resonator and welded in the Camero muffler). It’s louder than stock but to me it OK. I also have a TimeValve Y-Pipe as a backup but it is way louder.

Bottom line to me is that the exhaust system on this car should be serviceable for a long time.

My resonator holed at about 95k miles. Fortunately, it was in Germany near a M-B parts distribution center and was replaced in a few hours.

That’s about how long mine lasted but I elected to go with the Camero straight thru muffler at the time. Looking back I should’ve bought the OEMB resonator and stored it in my stash. To late it’s NLA.

Sold for $87,777 or a bit over $92k with vig, pushing $100k with T/T/T/T tacked on. And that is BEFORE adding deferred maintenance, and stuff like installing the proper size tires. At least the seller replaced the broken rearview mirror, and said they would fix the C-pillar upholstery prior to delivery.



Solid support for the ~$60k range, but THREE bidders were at $85k+, and #4 was at $73k.

Maybe the Seinfeld Effect has become a thing? But the last couple of 036's on BaHaT didn't touch this... and this car wasn't particular amazing... I'm kinda confused. Maybe it was 744+271 fetching a premium? The seller is sort of a West Coast Dean which likely helped, but ninety grand, wow.
