That one was on Facebook, the importer said it was one of 45, I had to explain to him that the "45" referred to the number of code 967 and 958 E60 Limited's. This is one of about 147 if the last number count is accurate.

I wonder if the "importer" on Faceplant was not the owner, and posting it for sale before actually winning the auction.

:scratchchin:

Dave, I'm pretty sure I saw this on auction 2 years ago. Also, long time no talk ;). Do you know what the failed bid was?

They do have some cars in stock for sale, but they mainly act as a buyers agent to bid on cars and take care of all the importation docs. They even can store the vehicle till it is 25 years old. They are in Ferndale WA. Jdm Importer | United States | The Import Guys

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS!
We are very overdue for this post, so here goes.
Who are you?
-We are The Import Guys, an importer based out of Ferndale, Washington, USA.
What services do you offer?
-Our primary business is importing vehicles from Japan, whether that be cars we have purchased for inventory or cars purchased from the auctions in Japan for a US buyer. We also offer export services from Japan to countries outside of the US and export of vehicles from the US.
What is this page for?
-This page is to highlight vehicles going through the dealer auctions in Japan which are available to be purchased and imported using our services.
What does the process look like?
-Unless a car is rather expensive, we take a $1000 deposit in order to bid. If we are unable to secure a car for you, this deposit is refundable minus the Paypal fee. If we do win, we will issue an invoice for the full cost of the car and import to be paid within 48 hours. From there, the car gets sent to our exporter's lot or straight to the port. The car is then shipped out either to the port of Tacoma if the car will be picked up from our shop or to a port of your choice. We can arrange shipping within the US at a buyer's cost. Providing there is available space on ships, the process usually takes 6-12 weeks.
If a car is under 25, can you store it?
-Yes! We have both indoor and outdoor short- and long-term storage in Japan. Buying a vehicle before it turns 25 can be a great way to save money by beating the US market.
What is your fee?
-In most cases, our fee is a flat $1200 on top of cost
What other costs can I expect?
-For most cars, shipping from Japan to the US is $800-2300 (present shipping availability from Japan means that costs are higher at the moment)
-The auction house in Japan has fees of $100-500
-US import tariffs are 2.5% for cars, 25% for trucks and commercial vehicles (this includes things like cargo vans), along with an additional 0.3464% filing fee
-The logistics company takes a $142 fee
-If going through the port of Tacoma, there is a $104 ramping fee (variable)
-Customs brokerage costs ~$215
-International wire costs $50
-Certified translation costs $90
-Dirt cleaning in Japan costs $100
-Our auction agent in Japan takes a $500-1000 fee
-Transport from the Port of Tacoma to our shop is $200
What should I do if I have questions?
-Send the page a message, email us at dave@theimportguys.com or sales@theimportguys.com, give us a call at (833) 536-4968, or come visit us!

Blast from the past! 😁 No idea what the high bid was, I don't have an account with the auction house. Someone sent me the screenshots.

I've maintained this car for last 2years. After that, this car became one of the fastest E60 I've ever driven. The guy who bought this car is very lucky.

Thanks for the info! Do you know what modifications were done to make it faster?

HI. I think most E60 loses power from 2000RPM to 4500RPM. This car was too at my first drive.
So I did injector cleaning, LHunit E-GASunit GM unit Overhaul/maintained, Put genuine plugs and new bosh Distributor and rotor, New O2 sensor, , new Knock sensor and new fuel pressure gauge. Then finally I did LH self adjustment reset and learn. Then this car became great car.

Hello Guys.
As I have seen on forum, many people wants to get e60 imported from Japan. So I thought this might be some help. Although I am not sure of the prices of e60. This one asking price is $130k USD before import. Now guys, I am in Dubai only and if it interests anyone. I can go and inspect the car on my free day.

Again, I am not associated with this brand. Just trying to help the community.

It has the early manual dimming rearview mirror, but AFAIK it was standardized with auto.dimming on the facelift models. It has IR remote lock on the drivers door, but I cannot see any IR-sensor for the boot lid, that is strange.

Aha - that may explain why some later/facelift cars have the 1.gen auto dimming mirror with the Off - Min - Max switch, if the dealer took what's available when requested. And it may explain why the Limited in the brochure has the 1.gen mirror installed, post #7;

Still learning as we speak!:wootrock:
I don't know exact production dates for the gen II mirror, but these starting appearing on the market around 1994. Some GM 1994 cars still used the gen I mirror (with off, min, max settings), this is BTW, where the mirror came from, it was a modified GM mirror, with plugged wiring sockets and converted to a ball/socket design.

Same mirror was modified and sold to BMW for use in the E36.
