Vehicle Description

Vehicle Original VIN : WDB1240281C168062
AVAILABLE NOW
ASG is pleased to present our 1995 Mercedes-Benz E280 Limited Edition W124 is a Japanese-market exclusive limited to only 50 models! This mid-merger model is the only one in the states and is assumed to be one of the first Mercedes' that were offered with AMG goodies directly from the dealer. While this is common today it was not so in the early 90's.
Being that the Japan was one of the most demanding markets for AMG's back in the day, Mercedes' decided to test dealer ready AMG models there first, with this example leading the way.
The uniqueness of this particular example is that this one was made for the Japanese businessman who wanted the AMG look but did not want the annual tax burden associated with the bigger 5.0 liter engine, so this one has the 2.8L M104 instead.
This example is finished in Brilliant Silver-Metallic (744) over a black leather interior.
It features AMG bodywork, AMG sports suspension, authentic AMG 17? two piece wheels, four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, AMG-branded sports exhaust, power-adjustable seats, power windows, and a power-operated sunroof.
AMG branding is also present on the dash, center stack, and instrument cluster. Instrumentation includes a 260-km/h speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer.
The suspension and engine are tight and responsive, interior components are preserved and in great shape as well, almost as if it was just recently driven off the dealer floor.
AMG Features include:
AMG Sport Exhaust System
AMG Suspension Kit
AMG 260km Speedo
AMG 17inch 2 Piece Wheels
AMG Aero (Front spoiler, side skirt, rear skirt)
AMG Emblem
AMG Rubber Fender Arch
AMG Japan Plate
AMG Ashtray Wood Panel Limited Edition Logo
AMG Limited Edition
This Mid-Merger AMG is offered with import documentation, manuals, key and Service records.

The ala carte system was still available in 95, at least from Germany. Seen several fully equipped W124's with literally all the AMG options installed except the motor. The AMG of Japan version I suspect was something similar, buyers could just tick off option boxes and not include the motor upgrade.

I guess this is a stock E280 Sportline which is not that rare here in Europe. Probably had the AMG bumpers fitted in Japan.
It only has Sport steering wheel and Sport seats in the datacard. No Sportline undercarriage, but allegedly had AMG springs/dampers, likely with stock sway bars/bushings.

:watchdrama:

No affiliation. Neat car, if you are into ASNG (All Show, No Go). I didn't know AMG Japan would create a special, Limited mode targeted at the unsuccessful Japanese businessman. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
So the business man wanted to look like he had a full AMG spec car but did not want to pay for the performance motor. Could be understandable as when I lived for 2 years in Japan, I found that cars were relatively cheap to buy, but expensive to run. $200 a month was the parking charge in the appartment block where we lived. Parking anywhere was exhorbitant. The inspection ( Shaken) for cars could be anything from $250 to thousands of dollars for Rolls Royces or any car that was not Japanese. If you get a DUI, all the people in the car can loose their license, even if they were not driving!

Looks like a kitted out E280. Nothing more.
I wonder if that cluster is from another car with another mileage? A full service history should clear that up.
