Re: 1995 W124 E60 AMG Factory 49.000 miles / 79.000 KM

Beautiful car! Is the paint original? Does it have any AMG labels on the engine compartment?

For that price one would hope that the seller would install a tow-hook cover, fix the peeling door pockets and provide some fresh floor mats!

And at least restored, if not new replacement seat leathers!

Odd that the EZL has been replaced, it's 1993-vintage from a 5.0L, not the original 6.0L HWA-unit. Not a deal breaker though.

Good eye Sir...!

Would hope for the Details to be more sorted as noted above @ this price point.

...that said, SURE would like me an E60, spectacular timing with the Move about a month out and all....Lame-Sauce.

jono

Since it's a proper E60 AMG, I don't mind saying how good those wheels look on it. But yeah, I would expect some of the above to have been tended to before "presenting it" for sale (and certainly before delivery).

maw

the tow hook cover is included, it was just removed for transport because it usually gets stolen - and then recovered.

the car has full service history, and the upholstery wear was just seams that had gone up- its been repaired now. keep in mind a gentleman used this in japan, thats alot of city driving and in and out of cars. still, I disagree that the interior looks like its done 200.000 KM - but opinions may vary.

thanks for the feedback guys.

edit: the tow hook cover was removed for transport , but singen forgot to put it back on before taking the pictures. But it is included and comes with the car.
Any alignments out of spec, worn items etc can be discussed before delivery - no problem.

+eleventybillion.

Jono, since you have contacts in Japan, you would be far better off buying direct from Japan auctions. Pretty sure you could snag one in similar condition for literally half the pricetag of this one - probably less, especially if it had a few more km's on the odo. This particular car would be enticing for European buyers as it's already imported and ready to have license plates installed.

BTW - anyone else notice the 300kph speedo? I thought the factory code-957 cars all had 260kph speedos, and the 300kph was an AMG aftermarket thing (i.e., changed after delivery when new, not before delivery). Not a big deal, just interesting...

:scratchchin:

Not anymore you cant. And good luck finding a factory- delivered E60 new in Germany with the green Fahrzeugbrief.
A Japanese conversion , maybe.

Look, theres always someone who says you can get this for half the price here and there. Good for them, why arent they off already.

Here is the datacard for the car, Showing it to be a real E60 straight from the factory.

Oh, dont get me wrong! They are available! But not at 30-40.000 euros anymore alas. Sorry if you read my reply the wrong way. It was a reply to GSXR regarding finding them in Japan cheaply.

VIN checks out as a true E60 via EPC. Not an E500 that was converted to an E60 at AMG Japan. Although it looks like AMG Japan did have their hands on it at one point.

the 300km/h speedo is retrofitted, being a vehicle which stayed in Japan many "local" modifications took place, be it the shifter, ash tray cover and possibly the speedo. Many "amg" speedos are circling around being just copied dials on standard drives. If the speedo is correct you can find only by the HWA nbr on the dial and correct signal rate on the backside of the speedo.
In general its a nice car, what is typical for a reseller is the typical mark up in price plus the "non" investment to bring the car in proper condition. Be it the missing tow hook cover (auto salon singen is experienced with classics or rare cars so it's not really an excuse, and the cover is still available new - so most probably they ordered it), the window tinting or the radio, still at this price there is no approval and checking done of the traffic department so this comes at an extra cost too.

Re: 1995 W124 E60 AMG Factory 49.000 miles / 79.000 KM

I agree.
Many of the German imports to Japan were clocked as the Japanese like low mileage cars & the Germans know how to turn back the mileage on these older cars .........

Especially when a car run for around ten years in the homeland, where the 500s and its derivates are known as comfortable long distance drivers vehicles.

Again, I brought this car home from Japan myself and physically removed the tow hook cover for transport because they usually get stolen - but Singen forgot to fit it before taking pictures. Agree that its a bit sloppy. it doesnt really matter though...

I know that these covers often get lost on roro transport due to unqualified personal... Anyhow right, doesn't really matter. Good luck with the sale!

It doesn't have electric steering column, which is rare for an E60 AMG.
Or the dust cover between the cluster and steering column is missing - which rarely happen as well. Should be fixed along with the tow hook cover + a set of 3 pc AMG Aero II wheels.☺

The 300 kmh AMG speedo plate is OE, easy to see because replicas is not halfway close to the OE detail level - except for the one I bought some time back. The only difference on that speedo plate is the missing "spinidiot" triangel and the numbers are better positioned than the OE plate. Post#31 and #35: http://www.500eboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=810

Nice car, but cosmic asking price, however GLWS! :thumbsup2:

The website still shows € 83.950 without VAT, and € 99.900 including VAT...? Did the price change to €65k without VAT?

:?:

Re: FS: 1995, E60, Grey/Grey, 79kkm, 90k€, Germany

I'm not usually a critic and it looks like a nice E60 but for €90K he should put in new carpet. Carpet looks really worn more than a quick shampoo can fix. Outside sparkles but no badges on the trunk lid. Was it re-painted?

One engine shot and it looks like the detailer left to much shine on it.

Very low mileage/kilometers and an overall great looking car though. I wish I could blow €90K on it.

Only in my dreams.

This Dealer has a lot of high dollar machinery.

Thanks for posting

low mileage, at first I thought it might be AMG Japan (ashtray cover label), but it doesn't look like it since tailpipes are not the kind you seen on AMG Japan cars, so it might in fact be AMG Germany. I wonder if it was ordered with those wheels? I would have expected the AMG multi piece ones that came on the E60's or AMG Monoblocks - but who knows maybe they ordered it with these originally if they were available (I don't know.)
It has the infrared locking system, you can see below the "Z" and the "G" on the rear plate the ir receiver. Nice colors.

No chance, these wheels are post 1996 R129 and would never have had a TUV certificate for the 124036
I still suspect a Japanese import,

makes sense.
If it was AMG Japan I would have expected it to have the exhaust/chrome tailpipe that this one doesn't have, but the sticker make me wonder.

Could have been removed for registration in CH.

The two non official versions were:

- Welding exhaust tips from the 6 cylinder or SL version to a standard 124036 muffler.
- Installing a 6 cylinder W124 AMG muffler, which I have personally seen and heard. It sounds raspy and restricted as the muffler is smaller.

Seems to be the "I don't want to sell it" price, but hey, if someone out there hates having money, maybe they'll fork out a quarter-mil.

:watchdrama:

I'm confused. Is this car with the black interior the same as the one with grey interior at the top of the thread?
It appears to be the same car just that the interior has been reupholstered in Black. Many things look exactly the same so I don't know what exactly was done in the restoration

Maybe the world where this dealer lives exists, but it is not a real world......what a crap. And for such an amount. Unglaublich.

There's not enough photos in the recent listing to confirm, so we're assuming both VIN's are valid. But from the one console shot, all the buttons match, including the ASR Off switch. Really weird someone would do a color change on a (claimed) low-mile, super rare car.

The vehicle with VIN: WDB1240361C199277
- Originally German delivery to Mannheim Branch
- 957 Code as of factory (no entry in modification history)
- interior is as of factory version 278A, Grey leather
- exterior is 744 brilliant silver

Why change the interior on what was otherwise quite a standard, original AMG E60. The mind boggles.

Could be a nice daily driver for me in Dubai to the office but the black interior would get too hot :)
