Im trying to get more info on this for my brother.

How hard is this to replace? What can one expect to pay for a replacement?

Looks like his 'lower' harness is going bad but it'll most likely need to be done entirely.

Anyone god a decent diagram or anything that would help tackle this as a diy project?
 
Are you referring to upper (engine) harness, lower (starter/alternator), or both?

So he was told by a local mechanic that his "lower harness" is going bad. He also mentioned something about it being connected to the started also.
