Can you imagine these cars with a 9L (550 cubic inch) engine? Drooool.

I'd be happy with 7.0L (427 c.i.)...

:drool5:
I would believe that it's overkill :O 7.3L into a W124 was a possibility. But I think I would stay at M159 engine with 6.2L instead and making it with 4 matic setup :) so not so big and not so small, just in the middle hehe.

Perhaps Renntech could produce a 7.0L M119 for W124, that would be a dream car for you

Brabus is naming their cars with a 4.0 liters with 700 and up. Nothing is changed I believe?

The M120 is a bit too large for the 124 chassis, IMO. Yeah, it's been done, but there's not enough room for a properly sized radiator+condenser, and there's the extra weight upsetting the chassis balance. More power from a V8 without extra weight is ideal, either larger M119, or the M156/M159.

The M119 can't be reliably bored over 100mm to 101mm at the most, and there are limits to how much stroke can fit within the confines of the block / crankcase. I think 6.4-6.5L is about the limit? The Brabus "65" is actually 6.4L (6,409cc) with 101mm bore and 100mm stroke.

Current Brabus naming (i.e., 700) may be related to horsepower, similar to McLaren... since displacement no longer correlates with power output, as it did with normally aspirated engines.

:v8:

@gsxr Interesting! Never knew that there was a limitation on stroke and bore on M119 engine. In that case, let's push it to 1000 hp instead and we call it 1000E!

On side note, I'm more comfortable for having a 4 matic+ V8 on a W124 for the sake of grip on a drag race, or any race of that matter. And weight distribution.

M159 with the cylinder bore diameter is 102.2 mm is pretty much big.

Untitled29.jpg

Speaking of size, I have miscalculated the size of M159 Engine when I found out about the bore diameter is 102.2 mm so there is plenty room for cooling, turbos, and other modification. I think this is the perfect size to have the power one need.

The M156/M159 are basically the M119 on steroids from 20+ years of advanced technology. Potential fitment problems could be the oil pan clearing the stock frame crossmember below the engine, and then possibly the exhaust clearing the steering box. I haven't yet seen either of these engines successfully installed in a 124, but I've heard of a couple people working on it. Note the M159 intake manifold / airbox is enormous and probably wouldn't fit under a stock hood.

:blower:

Yes Dave, I faced the same problem with oil pan, couldn't see how it will fit other than needing the modification on the chassis and steering box was in the way. So something needs an adjustment. It would be valuable if I know how others made it successfully. Otherwise I would make it on my own to see what's appropriate and being realistic about how much work one is willing to do in practice.

If the Airbox and intake manifold is big then I can't risk lower it to affect transmission line and etc. You get the drill. I will have to see how close I'm to the bonnet, some people done this on a C63 2014 with SLS manifold and it was quite close to the bonnet but I think this is going to be ok for W124 aswell.

Tasos made it:

@gsxr Uggh I'm so sorry for the misleading size again. I thought I measured it and then I saved the file but apparently I forgot to save it once I measured it.

Actually, the engine is that big, the black cylinders is the bore diameter of 102.2 mm this time.
Really sorry!

I can’t state how impressive this all is. Amazing amazing work and dedication here. Thanks for taking us along for the ride :)
My pleasure. It is also an amazing experience and learning curve for me. Sometimes I get a look at my work and wondering if I really made them all myself. Especially when during difficult circumstances in life.

This is the starting point, back in 2020.

And the final result of the shape was an achievement point of my life by far.

The start of 3D-printing files journey begins here. I will slowly work each parts to be able to 3D-print.

I have now made a 500E emblem that's ready for 3D printing. Will selling the 3D-file only.
Measurement is : 19.35 cm/ 7.618 inch width and 3.35 cm/1.318 inch height and 0.4 cm/0.157 inch thick.
Admins, is it appropriate to publish on sale threads or do I post it here?

Dang you were right. I was looking at this video yesterday and Carlsson did install the SLS manifold for the CK63 RSR and they raised the hood to fit in.

It start at 2:48.

I would like to share with you some really nice photo shots I have been doing on this BRABUS 900E Rocket project. I have come across with really nice people who have been working in the industry for 20+ years for automotive photo shots and 3D-renders of a CGI. Guiding me through to how to make a such nice renders by camera angles with focus, materials and lights. It was such a blast! I have never imagined that I would reach that far. I'm very thankful for coming across this Automotive CGI community in Discord.

What have I done, I installed 360 mm brake disc front+rear from the S-class W222. Dark red Carbon fiber engine cover, Vossen 3 spoke wheels VPS-317 - Vossen Wheels whereby I have been inspired by Baron from the owner @195910 with BRABUS 3 spoke wheels.
The car is black on black. With no extra gimmicks. The exhaust pipes has carbon fiber cover.

Video reference here BRABUS is exactly what I intended to do here. Happy scrolling!

Oh boy, I have been trying out some 3D-scan by using a free software so called 3DF Zephyr. There are conditions of how you should 3D-scan a object/car. The reason for this is because if I'm going to make a BRABUS replica bodykit, it has to be exact or it going to be a big marginal error. Unless someone here has already 3D-scanned their cars :) Albert has already sent me the front view but not whole car sadly. Even thou it turned out to be in exact shape, one must be 100 %.

I have been trying on my own by using Youtube video where a guy as going around the car in 360. But it didn't turn out well, I was lucky that it got somewhere but not so quite good as I expected.

You can see my 3D-model and the photoscan is overlapped together

CINEMA_4D_fxFh7XMMkT.pngCINEMA_4D_SRXNC0b958.png

If you guys are going to attempt to scan your cars with your phone, here are the conditions:

1. Don't try to photo scan any furry, thin, or reflective materials. Any reflections will confuse the depth map of the software.
2. Have a clear path in your mind of where you are going to take pictures from. The basic shape of the camera angles should be a large dome that includes a lot of surroundings of the object (this layer makes it easier for the software to determine which side your closer angles are shooting from), a medium dome that centers the object and the object almost reaches the edges of the image frame (this gives the program most of the shapes), then a very small dome where you get close enough to see 1/4-1/8 of the object, to get more detail when texturing.
3. Any parts that jut out of the object should have their own additional domes of pictures that cover every angle.
4. The scan quality increases proportionally to the amount of pictures taken. I had to take 70-100 pictures to get a quality I was happy with.
5. Don't include blurry pictures or pictures taken at a weird angle.
6. A good way to know if your camera is good enough for photo-scanning is the size of the pictures it produces. At least 1.5MB is necessary and 2.5MB+ is optimal.7. Only take outdoor pictures when it is cloudy and indoor pictures in places where the object does not receive direct lighting.

You guys didn't think I would forget about facelift? :D Work in progress to make a facelift version.
The reason is after my BRABUS bodykit caught unexpectedly in big attention many was asking if there were a facelift version with that grille.

To be honest, the facelift has started to grown on me. Now I have to make headlights that will fit the bonnet. The preface lift headlights will otherwise hit the bonnet. And oh boy, I gotta make new lenses to fit that too.

Looks great! FYI... you may already know this, but the E60 AMG had no AMG body kit, the bumpers & rockers were all the same as standard E500E.

Also, the Gen1 body kits were intended for pre-facelift, while Gen2 body kits were meant for facelift models. All the components were slightly different between Gen 1/2 but the front bumper is the most obvious. Photos of both are here.

Correct, E60 had no AMG bodykit. I however offering the 3D files for those who likes to have a Gen 2 AMG bodykit for the E60, because you just basically swap the badges and engine to 6.0 liters. ;) Otherwise I already prepared for the facelift version, if anyone would like to have a E60 badge they can just contact me.

Great work on this model! Been loving the creation and re-work as you get more comfortable with the variances and intricate nature of these cars.

Curiosity and lack of knowledge, but would this 3d render be something that translates easily over to a 3d printer to make a physical copy? Was thinking initially the overall model and having it be printed 1:64 scale or similar.

Currently all my 3D-files is not yet for 3D printing, it will require the thickness of a mesh in order to do so (it will also be heavy for my PC). And that you would need .STL file for the 3D printing machine to read. Imagine all of those 5000+ objects need to be created in volume (thickness) in which I will do so after I release my Brabus replica. It requires just time and you will have a 3D file ready to print anything, in any scale.

Before going any further, I need to contact shops here in Sweden or in Europe to see if they would like to build this kit for potential customers. It has to be professionally built and done well for fittings and handle high speeds, which is something out of my expertise other than just designing the kit. There has to be demands for it as well. If any of you would like to see this to be in reality, you need to reach. Otherwise I can't waste more time on this.

Because of the Brand infringement I need to be cautious to not actually branding of a famous company, Brabus :D
Also I wrote to CEO of Brabus if they would like to make something out of it, if there is potential customers maybe they will? Who knows. If you guys know any good reliable shops that will invest in it, I'm all ears.

So this custom build will be named for this kit specifically for W124, as Draginev or Elevaor as my alias. We shall see. Take care.

I have gathered information that you can also use .FBX format to print, not only .stl in format files. As long there is thickness :)

Hello guys!

I’m thrilled to announce this special day, this special year. That dream came true. Finally I found a garage shop that will turn my 3D-design for W124s into reality.

I’m now officially collaborating with the shop Mozy Garage - Mozy 3D Custom Part | Flawless bodypart design | Make your ideas come to life

Mozy has done several works for building special kits for any car. He also worked with Mercedes-Benz 190 Evo bodykit you can see more here Kitisak Sinsoonthornchai (@mozy_3dcustom) • Instagram photos and videos

He is now working at the moment to make this Miata into the world. Which is beautifully done and designed by Pistonzero.

The Mercedes-Benz E900E Bodykit is now officially out for pre-order! We (Draginev X Mozy) are now collaborating to make this exciting new kit for the W124 owners into the world!

We are also being a lookout for being the world first to build this. Maybe @gsxr Dave you want to be one of them? J Drag racing that along and not let the rubber stick on the bumper this time :D

I've made a walking by 360 of the BRABUS replica I made as realistically possible. The sound effect was not easy however 😭.
So this time with a dark grey metallic paint to easy see the form and lines.

This may not be a W124 related. But I want to share with you on my journey on 3D-modelling blog.

I have made a W201 190E model. After my Brabus replica for E900E got viral unexpectedly on internet. There was a demand to make a W201 190E for enthusiasts. I'm not a big fan of 190E because it's really small size car for me since I'm 190 cm tall (6.23 ft) and I'm drawn to big sedans and W124 is the minimum size for me :D. But I cannot help how much I like the design of the car, everything that Bruno Sacco touches I'm deeply in love with. The interior itself reminds me of RR or Bentley sometimes.

This time it was an easy task to 3D-modelling this one because basically it is a baby Benz as famously intended. So the parts was just taken by W124 clay and applied to it where as the shoulder lines is different here. The W201 is really a boxy with sharper edge of the car so I noticed that the bigger the car is, the smoother and curvy it is. This is how we observe of it by W124 and W140. Then the EVO 1,2 became such a hit and I really like those Wings.

I made a W201 190E which is called EVOIX Undercover Rocket Edition. It will be on a same Undercover lineup design.
This car has absolutely no detailed chassis. Just Exterior + interior but not so detailed dashboard yet. Have a look!
What I did:
  • Flare fenders ( Wider than EVO ) and front fender has the shoulder line curved bumped up.
  • Exhaust Brabus replica and diffuser integrated as one
  • Front and Rear bumper with reflectors completely changed and new
  • Wider side skirt
  • Door cladding panels is wider on the low end.
  • Front Grille same as BRABUS 900 designation
  • Wings with LED Brake on top.
  • Modernized line that acts a continuous flow around the car with the wheel arc fender aswell.

You can also see comparison between two models (W124 and W201) and the important factor is to be able to distinguish between them so that no one will be confused about which is which.

@Draginev,
Your 190EVOIX is also awesome! I love your concepts. Maybe this should be your major for a career.

If I was a younger guy and had the big bucks I could see the 900E in my garage.

lol

I have made a daring attempt to push EVOIX into extreme. This is inspired both by Black series of C63 AMG and AMG GT-R combined with EVO with modern touch abit with widebody.

This is called EVOIX GT-R Black Edition

It has caught my attention that some people is using my pictures of E900E designation for advertising the W124 or E500E in youtube videos, social media platforms or probably might be the scammer themselves so beware!

I do not support this stupidity to use it as misdirection. Especially for E500E with their special status and the rest of W124s.

Can you watermark images to help prevent this in the future?

View attachment 181385
I should do it supposedly.

I didn't know that it will caught this big attention and didn't used watermark for my previous work such as the black 900E design one. After I made collaboration I watermark them by putting the sticker on front windshield. Some people on Tiktok has 1.3 millions views alone for my renders and didn't mention the designer. I guess I made a big time mistake, but again I didn't knew.

I also put my name on the trunk lid to help this even further. They can photoshop the register plate but not the emblem itself or the windshield.

This is not acceptable for misusing or misdirect people in all sort of ways!

I might even share it here since I posted it on my instagram profile
Since I began to make a redesign for the W140. The reveal teaser video is coming soon and will be posted here too.

Reminiscing Rudi, based in Hawaii.

First time I saw a W140, was when I was 6 years old in 1998. By a dear friend of my family named Rudi. He owned the W140 600 SEL and was showing me around the best feature of this car. Despite I remember everything about this car. It was black paint with original OEM rims with loads of options. One I can’t forget is when he had a remote control to open the boot trunk automatically. Talking about over-engineered car right there and way ahead of its time that made me in awe and stuck with me forever. Same goes for the mono-wiper of W124.

Once when we get picked up with his W140 from the airport I slept most of the time. Very comfortable cruiser car.

So I’ve created W140 S-class redesign for the loving memory of Rudi.
This design is inspired by Pagani Zonda since they share the same engine but modified.

Main issue:
I had problem designing this one and probably made a makeover like 5 times with front bumper and side skirt. Because only issued I had with this car is the roof that sits so high. I understand that the designers in the MB headquarters had a fight over this, one of them was tall. There wasn’t wrong by having a high roof, it suits for tall people who includes me and some NBA players.

So I had to figure out somehow how to trick that roof not to sits so high by making an illusion of a clean line somewhere. So I cooked this idea by making this list all around the car to balance that out.
This way the long version is the best to battle that high roof illusion.

New modern headlights fitment:
Since some of you have come in a journey with me for W124 E900E design whereby I made a modern headlights and it didn’t go so well. This time I made a 2nd attempt to do so. This strongly fits for the W124 facelift only too. I really hope you will enjoy this one.

This headlight design is completely new concept that none has done before. It is called Angel wings.

I
added ducktail for this one.

You also see that the fog lights are from the original AMG OEM. So this way I wanted to stay retro but new look of the intake made in carbon fiber.

Basically this design mimic of W222 S900 Rocket that I made to stay within the W140 DNA.
And of course I put the BRABUS 900 grille designation to make it a lot sportier but luxury cruiser.

Additional render photos shot of original grille and taillight at the bottom. Of course the designation of the new grille won't be better than the iconic original one for sure.

Hello gentlemen, I have now make new 3D-modelling project for W126 SEC and made a blog over the 126board because it was more appropriate to do so. You are more than welcome to follow my work there if you like W126 SEC models.

Ever seen a white "maybach" version of a W140?

Project W126 SEC

Hello gentlemen!

I’ve been very busy this past 2 months. Mainly because I’ve been collaborating with a client to attempt for making a modernization of W126 SEC.

I know I have been not so active on 126board with post updates on this project like I usually did on 500E mainly because of workload I’ve been facing like never before. I will upload final renders here for now and then I can upload the details later on the 126board.

Let’s begin with introduction. First of all, are some of you Boston Celtics fan? The main NBA player in the team is Kristaps Porzingis who is also a Mercedes enthusiast and has special love for the classic over-engineered C126 models that was designed by Bruno Sacco. He currently has Koenig in his collection where he proudly shows up on his instagram profile

He saw my work and was fascinated by the E900E designation so we teamed up together and make the same for the W126 SEC too. The goal is that he wants to do a complete high quality bespoke restomod for one of his W126 SEC with serious power in. While still have not decided yet what engine exactly to put in.

As you can see the result, in 2 months work I did the exterior work that was by help of 3D-scan of the stock. Then later on I made attempt to modernize the car by help of the sketch I made to ease the work.

The interior work was very easy because I used parts from W124 such as seats, buttons, roof console and so forth that saved me much time. Trims are filled with carbon fiber parts. The only challenged I faced was the belt extension and rear trim of a coupe that is pillar less. But I managed to get the result in the end.

Drive train: I suggested that we pick M177 engine for the visual sake ( I’m aware that it will rise more complexity of the installments and hence its why we see more of M113k swaps for the majority of classic cars)
I’ve installed M177 engine with 600 hp. And install some components in and partially used use some of the W124 parts to fit in to correspond for the original SEC such as windshield washer, brake pump, fuses, brake fluid and so on. Then the rest is modern components for the M177.

Realistically, I needed to raise the hood for the engine to fit in. By 30mm approximately. I made exception for this case for not touching the hood. The main goal was to attempt a modernization bodykit and the engine is to for the visual sake to inspire the future.

In the engine bay, I installed additional metal frame for the sake of collision impact and to strengthen further for the rigidity of the car and handling.

How does a SEC 1000 Rocket sounds?

This time I've been experimenting on a modern paint from Mercedes models. Aswell as the Brabus Rocket grille designation with the red light inside the "nostrils"

Back to W124 now. Mozy is about to build my design kit for the W124 so he sent me now the 3D-scan of the W124.
It requires work now to align the 3D scan data to be 100 % perfect. Very excited to see the E900E built! CINEMA_4D_6cpKbRG5qo.png
