Just had to share an experience I had today.

I stopped by a high-end body shop to get an estimate on some paint work for my 500E. I had never been to this shop before with my car, but had seen their excellent work. Whenever I take the 500E to a new place for some work, I'm always curious how it will be received. Will they even recognize it? This is a sort of litmus test I have for who I will allow to work on my car.

So I parked the 500E and walked into the showroom. As I walk in, there are about 8 guys standing in the office looking out the plate glass window, practically jumping up and down with big grins on their faces. The first words to me were from the owner - "How much?" When I just grinned, he repeated, "No seriously - how much?"

Just then a trailer arrived and unloaded a new Murcielago. They couldn't have cared less. They even commented to me - "You probably think we're strange going crazy about your car when a $200,000 Murcielago pulls up and we ignore it."

But I didn't think they were crazy. I thought they were my new body shop. :beerchug:
