AMG never used displacement emblems on the R129, W126, W201, W124 and W210. Out of the thousands of photos I have only Brabus uses a displacement emblem, I have seen 6.0, 5.5, 6.5, 6.6 and 7.2 emblems. With that said, the Brabus versions do not have the silver horizontal bar under the numbers.

One W201 with a 6.0l motor has a 6.0l emblem that matches what you posted, but the car was not built by AMG.

I believe your searching for a unicorn, but for the right price a Brabus 6.0 emblem is available

Hard to say if these are authentic, I suspect not

Thank you for your message.

This badge was already sold a few times over this forum - you can find it on google picture search. That‘s the reason why i open this thread.

Its the DOT? in the middle that looks to be the hard part, the second badge in the link
looks like part of a later SL600 badge when the model designation moved to the front
not the end and they lost the line underneath, Could a dash/dot? be 3D printed to use
with parts of a standard factory badge? or did certain w201 (190) models have an engine
capacity badge that had a dash between the numbers that could be used?

Looking at a knock off EPC at R129 Rear lid latch / Rear lid attachment parts it shows
A 300SL _24 badge part 80, the dash between SL and 24 is a separate part No 83
Part number 95 is an SL60 badge with separate numbers and letters
I have no idea of the full part numbers or even if they are still available but could
No83 and No95 be combined to make a replica of the second badge in the link?

Sorry, but this post is inaccurate as to AMG N America and AMG Japan, both licensed installers and agents for AMG Germany. All of the 13 AMG N America Hammers were adorned with 6.0 badges (and in one case 6.6 badge) for the quad cam AMG engines installed in these Hammers. Many of the Japan market AMG cars had the DOHC / 6.0 badge or just the 6.0 badge on the boot.

I cannot confirm or deny that any Pre-Merger W126 or W124 AMG cars from Affalterbach had a displacement badge on the boot lid. My Affalterbach Gen I widebody and my sold Affalterbach Gen I 500SEL - both 5.4L engines did not have boot badges. I have also seen a Japan market Gen I 5.4L widebody that made its way to New Zealand and recently sold on The MB Market that has a 5.4 boot badge. That badge may have been added while in Japan, but I believe this car was an original Affalterbach widebody that was exported to Japan.

Post merger with MB, clearly displacement badges began to be added to some AMG cars. R129 7.0, 7.2, 7.3, W140 7.2, 7.3 and so on. As the years passed, all AMG cars had displacement badges. AMG Germany R129 SL73 shown below that is NOT a Brabus car.

I had to really dig to find any factory AMG cars with a displacement emblem (out of the thousands I have) and it was on a car not built by AMG and was pre-merger. I have factory lit that spans 1981 to 2010 and price/parts lists for the same time period.

So lets break this into 1991 and older and 1992 to current

From factory lit 1981-1991, I actually found three cars showing a displacement emblem, a W123, W201 and a W124. These were all 80's cars and the only emblem that was clear was on the original hammer car (red W124) and it has a 6.0 displacement emblem, so that agrees with your statement. I can confirm that indeed, a few Affalterbach cars shown in factory AMG lit, did appear to have two digit displacement emblems. Keep in mind that this was three cars out of all the factory lit. 92 and newer models had no stand alone engine displacement emblem, so were looking at a small window of use (mid 80's)

None of the price listings from 81-2000 even list a displacement emblem for purchase. The EPC also never had a displacement emblem in it, at least for the W201 and W124. I never did much research via the EPC on other models.

So it appears that your are correct in your statement that a very small percentage of AMG built cars had displacement emblems, but were talking less than 1% and it only applied to pre-merger vehicles. The JDM displacement badges are dubious at best, I have seen those and its clear they are cheaply made, utilized the incorrect font and were readily available via Yahoo Japan right along side all of the other fake AMG trinkets sold in Japan. It would not surprise me that these have made their way onto authentic AMG of Japan vehicles

Keep in mind we were discussing stand alone displacement badges, not vehicle model designations that incorporated engine displacement. C36, C43, E55 are irrelevant to this discussion.
