im able to bring an engine or two over from Japan so if anyone is interested message me.
looking at a 6.0 AMG built m119 out of a 92 sl. 82K km. 275KW (367hp)
or a Carlsson 6.0 with roughly same output.

Re: engines from japan

Keep in mind that the 1990-1992 500SL engine has mechanical CIS injection, and will not work in the E500E.

Have any photos of the Carlsson engine, or details on the year/model it came out of?

Re: engines from japan

Can the intake assembly and electronics from a 500E be bolted onto the AMG 500SL long block to work?
Nope. Almost everything about the 119.960 (early) engine is different... it's a tall-deck design, and other than sharing the number of pistons & valves, essentially nothing interchanges.

This would be a great motor for someone that owns a 90-92 500SL (129.066 chassis only), assuming there is a matching ECU that comes with it. I don't know how critical the ECU is on the CIS-E engines.

I’m not seeing what sets the silver Amg wagon apart from any of the rest of these Japanese imported Amg cars? Why is this wagon worth 40-50k?

Special, yes, rare, yes, desirable, yes. For 50k, it should have a 6.0l motor, not the M103. Based on the auction history, it looks like some shill bidding action to drive the price up to the sellers reserve. It has been relisted with a BIN of 55k or best offer.
