A peek inside Mercedes-Benz's secret garage of misfit toys

Thanks for sharing !!

Anyone can see the showroom at the German Classic Center ... I visit every year (and I will be visiting there yet again next Friday morning Oct. 17th). I think I've published photos a few times from my Euro Tours...

If you ask REALLY nicely, have a connection, call in advance, or "know someone" you can get a tour of the workshop and the "holy halls" as R&T calls them. I've only had two tours of the workshop and halls, but that's where the action is.

In the not-too-distant future, MB is going to be moving this facility from where it's been since its inception in the 1990s (90 Stuttgarter Straße in Fellbach) down the hill to the main MB HQ & Museum facilities in Untertürkheim.

Nice to see it in R&T though....

Cheers,
Gerry

I heard those rumors, but I also saw more recently an interview with Mike Kunz (who runs the Irvine CC) and he said that they were staying put.

Well, not sooo exiting as BMW secret garage couple of years ago...Anyway thanks for sharing.

Not a chance, the W109 is all me, all day.

I really like the W108/109 period cars. The 6.3 is my favorite
after the 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet

That convertible 190E is pretty cool. Interesting where they moved the fuel filler door. Thanks for posting!

Couple photos of my weekend rental ride. I'm en route back home now, but will be back in Paris & the Fatherland for the first 10 days of November...

I spent the late afternoon on Saturday walking around the large grounds of the Schloss Nymphenburg in Munich. What a place. Here's the back side of the palace.
