Air Blower works for about 10 seconds

Hi everyone,
I have the following problem on my 4/1991.
The airblower works for about 10 seconds then it stopps working. I can put the selector on any position but the fan does not work anymore.
It only starts once , than cuts off. even putting the ignition on and off doesn't bring it back to life. The other day it starts again for some seconds.
Where shall I start looking ?

Does your car have automatic climate control with high/auto/low fan speeds, or manual climate control with 4 fixed fan speeds?

The fan/blower motor controls are completely different on each system.

OK - I only know the ACC system, as manual was never offered in North America (thanks, MBNA).

One of our European forum members will need to chime in on what might be the problem with your blower controls.
