Any recommendations in the Houston area?

Hello,

I am contemplating a 500e/e500. This site is super helpful, thank you all! Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop in the Houston area that’s competent, timely and honest?

Thank you,
David

I would suggest TGA, yes unless it is something that doesn't require MB specific knowledge and or tools. Any shop who deals with MB/BMW/Porsche should be able to do most if not all repairs.

I am in Kingwood and if you want to msg me about the issues you want to have done let me know. I spoke to someone from the local MB club a few weeks ago, is this the same person?

Thank you very much.

No nocfn, that wasn’t me. I don’t own a 500e but am interested in one and trying to get the lay of the land so to speak.

For Porsche’s the good air cooled guys have gotten scarce and I assume it’s the same with other cars as well, but I don’t know MB’s very well.

If you have never driven a 500E before, have you driven any 124 chassis, or any Mercedes for that matter? If not, spend some time behind the wheel of at least a 124, if not a 500E or two before jumping in. Plus, this will help you identify if a car isn't running properly. If you don't have some frame of reference it can be difficult to know what's normal vs wrong. It helps if the indy shop is intimately familiar with them, as I believe the owner of TGA owns a supercharged 500E.

BTW, welcome to the forum!

Thank you for the welcome!

Appreciate the advice. I’ve driven an odd assortment of Mercedes from a 190 SL to a current s class. But I’d say none that are relevant to a 500e. Really no 80’s/90’s MB’s. I’d very much like to try one.

Did you look at this thread in the "Southern US" sub-forum?

I did, thank You. I also noticed the dates on it and wasn’t sure if bumping it, or starting anew was a better idea.
