Hi,

After dissasembling my daily driver engine I searched options for head-, crank-, and rodbolts and ARP came on. I noticed that ARP does not provide any of these bolts for Mercedes or M119 engine. Has anyone know what is the reason? Is the stock bolts strong enough for tuning purposes or are the markets so low? As far as I know there are numerous of Mercedes tuners in worldwide so I would think that there would be some markets.

Tried to search but not found a discussion about ARP bolts on M119. Some owner topic was were the owner purchased custom set and installed it to car but no general discussion. I'd like to know your thougts about this. If this in wrong section, feel free to move in correct area.

Or are those ARP bolts just expensive blingbling and necessary when you're searching the last possible horses from the engine? :detective:

What's your plans? Supercharge it? Twin Turbo? Both? Spray it? HP goals?

I think, most certainly, Mercedes did it right from the start, construction/design/material/quality/enginering, all in all
nothing spared, no cutting corners etc. etc. Especially now, talking about motors M119 as we here are familiar with, I
would go as far as all motors up untill the last straight 6 cyl was replaced by the M112, V8 with M113 and so on...

I am confident with the MB OEM parts, if you must, get new bolts and what is needed, we can not go wrong there IMO
PS I say, from the C, E, S class when MB were counting their "beans" more carefully, thats another story, if you see what I mean
