:omg: wow! did'nt think you can push winter tyres that fast. I'm on winters too and recently drove on the autobahn to hamburg late dec/jan. conditions was cold, snowy and some part icy so only hit 160km at best. Dont think i would have pushed it beyond this even if it was dry, but now that i've seen this

looking at your pictures i think we have the same winter tyres, can't remember what brand though.

Maybe i was not clear- tyres with index V- till 240 km/h.
Will be my pleasure to run and chat, let me know when :driving:

Very enjoyable! Doesn't the car pull nicely from 160kph? FWIW, its still a risk for tire failure at the the top limit of a tire's rating. Racing organizations set the safety limit at 10% less than a tire's rating, including its weight rating (which isn't an issue with our cars) AND higher tire pressure is necessary to prevent the build-up of heat generated by air compression within the tire at sustained high rpm's.

Thx 8-)
1. I do not drive always that fast- it´s just not possible even in Germany, would be much too expensive and also quite exhausting for an old car. But sometimes- why not :3gears:
2. 240 kph seen on speedo are 228-230 kph on GPS. So there are at least another 10kmh "in".
3. I always have my tyre pressure on max.- now 2,8 bar.
4.Yes, it pulls nicely from 160 kph, but i hope you noticed - it was done on 4th gear, without kick-down :wank307:
So each time i do this i have to smile and remind myself about 480Nm torque
