AI or not the Caddy Northstar w/ 81K miles is about to if not already a motor leaker. It can only be fixed by approximating $2,500.00 R&R the motor out of the car.

How do I know this. My wife insisted on having one a 2005 Caddy DeVille. It started leaking at about 80K miles. Oil spots all over the driveway thru 140K miles when I donated it to Kars for Kids. BUT that’s not all now she has a second 2005 Caddy DeVille with 93K on the clock leaking oil all over the driveway. The wife insists on a big car for safety and she likes the 2005 Caddy so she drives it and I clean the driveway.

BTW; Both were purchased with around 25K miles and they both started leaking around 80K miles.

My advise DONT buy a Caddy with a POS Northstar motor.

The Northstar V8 is infamous all the way to Sweden, so bad is the reputation.

And I love the Seinfeld episode when Jerry bought his parents a Cadillac and getting the entire neighbourhood into a major hissy fit, and when they wanted to return it he said ”it’s got the Northstar system” referring to the cylinder deactivation, and his parents replied ”we don’t use it”.
